Trump Card (Japanese:きりふだTrump Card) is a damage-dealingNormal-typemove introduced inGeneration IV.
Effect
Trump Card inflicts damage and bypassesaccuracy checks to always hit, unless the target is in thesemi-invulnerable turn of a move such asDig orFly.
Trump Card'spower depends on the move's remainingPP after use, powering up when its PP is lower. Trump Card's power is calculated as follows:
| Remaining PP after use | Power |
|---|---|
| 4+ | 40 |
| 3 | 50 |
| 2 | 60 |
| 1 | 80 |
| 0 | 200 |
Trump Card takes into account the PP lost fromSpite andPressure. However, Trump Card does not interact withEerie Spell andG-Max Depletion (which are not available in the same games).
Trump Card will always consider the current PP at the time of execution of the move, even in cases where PP is restored byLunar Dance or a heldLeppa Berry.
When Trump Card is called by another move such asMetronome orAssist, it will instead use the PP of that move with the same chart applying.
Generation VIII onwards
Trump Card cannot be selected in a battle.

Trivia
- Most of Trump Card's animations depict it as slicing the opponent. This may be because its Japanese name, read in kanji, contains 切りkiri, meaning "cut".
