TheTour de Alto Mare (Japanese:ポケモン水上レースPokémon Water Race) is ananimated series-exclusive water chariot tournament held annually inAlto Mare,Johto. It was featured inPokémon Heroes: Latios & Latias.

Competition

During the competition,Trainers race on floating platforms pulled byWater-typePokémon through Alto Mare's canals. There are security guards stationed around the course and most connecting waterways are either cleared or blocked off to avoid collisions with ships. Winners are awarded a glass medallion, an ode to Venice's historicblown glass-making industry, depicting theLegendaryLatias andLatios surrounding theSoul Dew.
