TheToolbox (Japanese:どうぐばこToolbox) is the place items are stored inPokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team andPokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX. In the original games, it has a maximum capacity of 20 items, while in the remake, it starts at 32 and may increase as the player'srank goes up, up to 56. Items held by team members in the original games are not considered to be in the Toolbox.

If the Toolbox is full, new items cannot be obtained indungeons or purchased from theKecleon Shop.Job rewards will be sent toKangaskhan Storage if the Toolbox is full. In some dungeons, aKangaskhan Rock can be used to exchange items between the Toolbox and Storage before finishing the dungeon.

Toolbox is obtained as a part of theRescue Team Starter Set after clearing the first mission.

Team Go-Getters owns a Toolbox inPokémon Mystery Dungeon: Team Go-Getters Out of the Gate!. It was initially carried byChikorita, who soon gave it toSquirtle. Due toTeam Meanies cleaning up theKecleon Shop of all supplies, Team Go-Getters was forced to fill their Toolbox up with nothing butBerries for their mission inSinister Cave. Although most of the Berries were eaten byEkans of Team Meanies as an act of sabotage, leaving them with just twoOran Berries, Team Go-Getters received unexpected aid from AuntyKangaskhan of theKangaskhan Storage, who gifted them with severalCorsola Twigs.
