The three 60-card decks, titledForest Shadow,Roaring Heat, andBright Tide, centered on one of theevolutionary lines of theAlola first partner Pokémon and included an array of accessories to play a game. These comprised a cardboard sheet containing damage counters, status markers, and a new GX marker to identify if a player had used their single-useGX attack, a two-player playmat and rulesheet, a card checklist, acoin, a deck box, and a code card to unlock a digital version of the deck in thePokémon Trading Card Game Online.
The two weekends following the first release of theSun & MoonTheme Decks also saw participating locations hostPrerelease Tournaments for the expansion. TheMega Powers Collection became available to purchase from May 19, 2017. Its main selling point was the inclusion of fourFull Art reprints of XY Series cards first released in the JapaneseThe Best of XY subset. Instead of making these promotional cards,The Pokémon Company International opted to retain the expansion symbol of the initial print, add an "a" to their initial card number, and label them with ayellow A symbol. This ensured that similar reprints would retain the same legality of their original print in the currentStandard format. As such, the M Lucario-EX and M Manectric-EX cards from the collection remained unplayable in the Standard format, as their initial printsrotated at the start of the2016-17 season. The other featured cards—Jolteon-EX, Zygarde-EX, and Lucario Spirit Link—would remain Standard-legal up to the end of thefollowing season. The collection also included aJumbo version of M Lucario-EX, a selection of eight booster packs, and aTCGO code card.

It came with the same Tapu Koko promotional card as its North American counterpart and substituted the figure for anoversized version of Tapu Koko-GX fromGuardians Rising. Each box also included three booster packs and a code card for thePokémon Trading Card Game Online.
Among the products released on May 19, 2017 were theIsland Guardians Tins, which featuredguardian deitiesTapu Koko andTapu Bulu. The tins included either a new Tapu Bulu-GX card or an alternate-art Tapu Koko-GX, plus four booster packs, and a code card for use with theTCGO. Redeeming a code would unlock a digital 60-card deck—theAbundant Fury deck could be obtained from the Tapu Bulu tin, while theElectric Mischief deck could be redeemed from the Tapu Koko tin.
AnotherTapu Koko-based product was released on June 2, 2017—theTapu Koko Pin Collection. The collection included an alternate-art version of the promotional card included in the North AmericanTapu Koko Figure Collection and InternationalTapu Koko Box from earlier in 2017, as well as a Tapu Kokopin.
