Stuff Cheeks (Japanese:ほおばるStuff Cheeks) is a non-damagingNormal-typemove introduced inGeneration VIII. Prior toGeneration IX, it was thesignature move ofSkwovet andGreedent.

Effect

The user eats its held Berry, and raises itsDefense stat by two stages in addition to the effect that Berry might normally have. The user can successfully eat its Berry even in the presence ofUnnerve orMagic Room.

If the user is not holding a Berry, Stuff Cheeks cannot be selected from the move menu, and if the user has no other usable moves, it will be forced to useStruggle. If a Pokémon would use Stuff Cheeks, but is not holding a Berry when it would use the move (e.g. if its held Berry had been removed byKnock Off), Stuff Cheeks fails.

Generation VIII

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Stuff Cheeks cannot be selected in a battle.

In other games

Pokémon UNITE

In Pokémon UNITE, Stuff Cheeks isGreedent's second move. It is obtained by evolving fromSkwovet at level 5 and upgradingDefense Curl into it instead ofCovet. The user drops several Oran Berries, which can be eaten to recover HP. Any HP recovered from an OranBerry eaten within 5s that exceeds user's max HP will be converted to a shield. If the user catches sight of a Berry while using this move, movement speed is increased for a short time. At level 11, this move drops more Berries.
