Solosis is a round, greenPokémon surrounded by a darker green, gel-like substance. This liquid covering allows Solosis to live under any conditions, even in the vacuum of space, but when taking heavy blows, its fluid covering may leak away. Its inner body has dark, oval eyes and a red diamond-shaped mouth. On the upper left side of its head is a curly, yellow growth that resembles the endoplasmic reticulum of a cell. It uses psychic powers to communicate with telepathy, as well as to drive away potential threats.

Solosis, the Cell Pokémon. A membrane filled with fluid surrounds Solosis's body which allows it to live anywhere. It defeats its enemies using its formidable Psychic-type powers.
Solosis can be seen as a parallel toGothita. Both areGeneration VPsychic-type Pokémon evolving once at level 32 and then again at level 41. Solosis isexclusive to Pokémon White, White 2, and Shield, while Gothita is exclusive to Pokémon Black, Black 2, and Sword. They both have the same base experience and catch rates, gain new moves at similar levels and have base stat totals of 290.
Origin
Solosis and the rest of its evolutionary line seem to bear reference tocells, with the head representing thenucleus, the green substance surrounding their bodies resemblingcytoplasm and the objects inside their bodies representingorganelles. They may also represent the process ofmitosis, as hinted by their Pokémon categories and the fact the line down their head also resembles acleavage furrow. It may also make allusion to theembryonary stages, specifically the stage ofmorula.
Solosis's ability to survive in extreme conditions, including the vacuum of space, may be inspired byextremophiles or other highly resistantmicro-animals such as thetardigrade.
Name origin
Solosis may be a combination ofsolo (singular) andmeiosis ormitosis (cell division).
Uniran may be a combination ofuni- (prefix meaningone, as inunicellular organism) and 卵ran (egg cell). It may also refer tose unirán (Spanish for "they will join together"), as Solosis appears to be made of two parts.
