ASky Trainer (Japanese:スカイトレーナーSky Trainer) is a type ofPokémon Trainer introduced inGeneration VI. The class consists of Trainers who specialize inSky Battles. They can be found on top of cliffs or other distant locations that theplayer could not naturally reach. Sky Trainers will offer to battle the player once the player moves in front of where they are overlooking.

InPokémon the Series, it is shown that Sky Trainers use their flying suits to fly alongside theirPokémon during Sky Battles.
Pokémon the Series: XY
A female Sky Trainer namedMoria appeared inBattles in the Sky!, commanding aTalonflame. At the beginning of the episode, she was seen defeating a male Sky Trainer using aSkarmory. Later she also battledAsh twice. In the first battle, her Talonflame took a rather easy victory overAsh's Hawlucha, while in the second battle, Ash'sFletchling evolved into aFletchinder and learnedFlame Charge in the middle of the match, resulting in Ash's victory.
A couple of other, unnamed Sky Trainers also appeared in the Sky Battle Center where Ash andhis friends practiced the basics of Sky Battles.
Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon
A Sky Trainer appeared inGetting a Jump on the Competition!, participating in thePokémon Sled Jump Games onMount Lanakila with anEmolga.

Y, who was first introduced inAn X-cuse to Come Out and Play, is training to become a Sky Trainer. She chose this career path out of irritation when people expected her to follow inher mother's footsteps and become aRhyhorn Racer, deciding to do the exact opposite thing and learn to fly.
Later, it is revealed that there was a Sky Trainer school inVaniville Town, where Y studied at along with her senior,Yvette, who had collected 18 of theVivillonpatterns.
