Seismic Toss (Japanese:ちきゅうなげEarth Throw) is a damage-dealingFighting-typemove introduced inGeneration I. It wasTM19 in Generation I andTM15 inPokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!.

Effect

Seismic Toss inflicts damage equal to the user'slevel.

Generation I

Although Seismic Toss is a Fighting-type move, its type does not alter the amount of damage it inflicts. Seismic Toss is not affected by type immunities, so it can hitGhost-type Pokémon.

Generation II onwards

Seismic Toss is now affected by type immunities; therefore, it cannot usually affect Ghost-type Pokémon.

Seismic Toss can be used as the second move of aPokémon Contest combination, with the user gaining 2 bonus appeal points ifFake Out was used in the previous turn. It can also form part of a Contest Spectacular combination, with the user gaining an extra three appeal points if any of the movesEntrainment,Hold Hands, orPlay Nice was used in the prior turn.

Trivia

The globe in Battle Revolution's animation.
  • In theanimated series, while using Seismic Toss, Pokémon using the move are commonly depicted circling the globe, and, in theGeneration II, Pokémon Battle Revolution,Generation VI,VII,VIII, andIX games, a globe is shown as part of the animation. This is due to the Japanese name of the move beingEarth Throw.
  • In the first few seasons of theDutch dub, Seismic Toss was calledaardbeving, which is actually Dutch forEarthquake.
