Scald (Japanese:ねっとうBoiling Water) is a damage-dealingWater-typemove introduced inGeneration V.
It is:

Effect
Generation V
Scald inflicts damage and has a 30% chance ofburning the target. Upon execution, Scald will thaw the user iffrozen (even if the move fails to hit the target).
Generation VI onwards
Scald now also thaws afrozen target hit by it.

Pokémon UNITE
In Pokémon UNITE, Scald isSlowbro's first move. It is obtained by evolving fromSlowpoke at level 4 and upgradingWater Gun into it instead ofSurf. The user fires a stream of boiling water, damaging enemies hit; creating a cloud of steam at the location of the first enemy hit, which slows and applies burn to all enemies inside. At level 11, the size of the steam cloud increases.
