TheSandsear Cave (Japanese:熱砂の空洞Hot Sand Hollow) is a type of hideaway seen in theGrand Underground. It can only be accessed after theplayer obtains theExplorer Kit inEterna City from theUnderground Man, and features Pokémon thatroam the cave freely, instead of being found intall grass.
Geography
Sandsear Caves are arid, sand and rock filled caverns, containing small lakes of lava. Some rocks are taller than theplayer, and must be navigated around, as well as the various pools of lava.

Pokémon
With each additional badge earned by the player, the levels of wild Pokémon are increased.

After the player fulfills a particular objective during their adventure, another group of Pokémon are added to the pool of possible encounters. The spawn rates for certaintypes are influenced by the active "Statue Effect" applied by a player'sSecret BaseStatues.
Rare Spawns
Rare Spawns run concurrently to the existing encounter table, and use independent percentages for their rates.
