Salvador appeared inA Claim to Flame!, asAsh's first opponent during the Screening Round of theSilver Conference. The computer randomly selected Ash to go first, and Salvador sent out hisFurret tobattleAsh's Pikachu. Furret turned out to be a tough opponent, though Ash ultimately won and advanced onto the next stages. It is not known if Salvador won his other two battles in the Screening Round, and therefore it is not known if he moved on in the Silver Conference.

Furret is Salvador's main powerhouse. Salvador used his Furret againstAsh's Pikachu in aSilver Conferencebattle. Furret turned out to be a formidable opponent. It dodged Pikachu's attacks with its speed, and it confused theElectric-type Pokémon by repeatedly using Dig.Ash finally commanded Pikachu to grab onto Furret's back, where he usedThunderbolt underground to defeat Furret and give Ash the victory.
