- Rock Climb andRock Smash are the only moves to have the wordrock in their name and not beRock-type.
- Coincidentally, both have been HM moves at some point.
- InPokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, theGligar andZigzagoon evolutionary lines, as well asBidoof, cannot learn Rock Climb, despite being able to learn this move by breeding in previous generations.
