Rika (Japanese:チリChili[2]) is a member of theElite Four of thePaldearegion. Shespecializes inGround-typePokémon.

Appearance
Rika is a young slender woman with red eyes and long green hair in a low ponytail and a long cowlick. For clothing, she wears a gray button-up shirt, a black necktie with a brown tip, black pants with suspenders, brown shoes and matching black gloves with Paldea League's logo. She wears silver triangle-shaped ear piercing and earrings and is shown wearing black square glasses when she is working as the receptionist of Paldea League.
Character profile
On top of her duties as an Elite Four member, Rika works underGeeta as her assistant, and has a laid-back, tomboyish personality. She calls the player "kiddo" as a nickname. She serves as the receptionist for the Pokémon League, interviewing the player during the first part of the Champion Assessment. She is the first of the Elite Four to be faced. Later, after the player becomes a Champion, she observes their battle againstNemona inMesagoza.
The player must answer the interview questions correctly in the Champion Assessment in order to be able to challenge the Elite Four. Any incorrect answer results in the player being kicked out immediately, and the player must restart the interview from the beginning.
The Indigo Disk
Rika accompanies Geeta toBlueberry Academy inUnova, where they reunite with the player. Rika angrily chastises them for having gone into Area Zero previously without permission, before Geeta asks her to calm down. Rika can eventually return to Blueberry Academy as a special coach, where she can be rebattled.

Pokémon Horizons: The Series
Rika first appeared inWelcome to Naranja Academy!, where she was introduced byNemona toLiko,Roy, andDot. During the brief meeting, Rika commented that she expected great things from Liko asIndigo Academy's representative. Later, she watched Liko's battle againstAnn and noticed great potential in her.
InShowdown! The Paldea Elite Four, Rika was battling students ofNaranja Academy as part of theElite Four Tag Battle. Using herClodsire andDugtrio, she was able to defeatTulip andSidian by defeating the latter'sGarganacl before proceeding to battle Liko andKaty. In thenext episode, she battled against Liko and Katy, winning byTerastallizing her Clodsire to defeatLiko's Floragato.
InShine on, Terastallization! Liko vs. Roy!, Rika and Geeta met up with Liko to discuss the results of her training, she then watched Liko's battle against Roy. After the battle, Rika and Geeta congratulated Liko on her growth as a Trainer, and along with Geeta, suggested that Liko consider battling in thePokémon League in the future.
InOver the Top!, Rika welcomed theRising Volt Tacklers along with Penny, the other members of Paldea's Elite Four, and Geeta, after which Rika watched Liko, Roy, and Dot battle Geeta.
Character
Rika showed a deep interest in seeking especially strongTrainers that can hold their own in thePaldea League. During the meeting with Liko, she cited the high level that Trainers from theKantoregion tend to be at and later when she saw Liko in battle, realizing the enormous potential Liko has as a Trainer.
Rika is generally lighthearted and kind to others, taking the time before battle to reassure Liko and calm her down, and even joking around with her to try and break the ice. However, she is incredibly ruthless in battle and does not hold back, encouraging others to do the same.
As a member of the Paldea Elite Four, Rika is an incredibly skilled and powerful trainer in and of herself, being able to properly and expertly command both her Pokémon at once and improvising strategies and move combinations on the spot. She also does not hesitate toTerastallize her Pokémon upon seeing her opponent pull out all the stops, despite having the Tera Type disadvantage.
Pokémon
Dugtrio is Rika's first known Pokémon. Dugtrio was used alongsideClodsire in her battle againstTulip andSidian. InLiko vs. Rika! Towards the Battle's End, it wasparalyzed by aBounce fromKaty'sLokix, but won theTag Battle when its partner Clodsire defeatedFloragato.
Dugtrio's known moves areDig andRock Slide.

Clodsire is Rika's second known Pokémon and her main partner. It is capable ofTerastallizing into a pureGroundtype. Clodsire was used alongsideDugtrio in her battle againstTulip andSidian. InLiko vs. Rika! Towards the Battle's End, it battledLiko's Floragato and Katy's Lokix. Clodsire knocked Lokix out after poisoning it, then won against Floragato after Terastallizing despite the Tera Type disadvantage, making Rika the winner of the battle. It reappeared during a flashback inIce Battle! Cold-Eyed Grusha.
Clodsire's known moves areSludge Wave,Mud Shot,Poison Jab, andEarth Power.

Rika was introduced as aSupporter card in thePokémon Trading Card Game during the English Scarlet & Violet Series (the Japanese Scarlet & Violet Era). It was first released in the JapaneseRaging Surf subset and the EnglishParadox Rift expansion, with artwork byGIDORA. A Full Artultra rare version with artwork by the same illustrator, and aspecial illustration rare version of the card with artwork bykantaro were released in the same sets. It allows players to look at the top 4 cards of their deck, put 2 of them into their hand, and then shuffle the other 2 and put them on the bottom of their deck.
In the manga

Pokémon Adventures
Rika debuted inPASV12. She, along withGeeta, was first seen watching theGym battle betweenScarlet andIono inLevincia. Later that night, Rika and Geeta encountered Scarlet and tried introducing themselves to her. To Rika's disappointment, Scarlet responded by coldly ignoring them.
Later, Rika, along withPoppy,Hassel, and Geeta, appeared outside theTreasure Eatery to greetLarry. Geeta explained that everyone came to investigate a report the Pokémon League received claiming that Larry attacked some Trainers unprovoked, though noted it was likely false. Larry clarified the Trainers he fought wereTeam Star members harassing anUva Academy student, which he noted was worse than their usual acts of misbehavior. Geeta noted a number of recent incidents affecting the academy, including a fake student hired byRaifort to look for thetreasures of ruin. Hearing this, Rika remembered seeing Raifort with Scarlet the night they met and concluded she was the fake student.
