Relic Song (Japanese:いにしえのうたAncient Song) is a damage-dealingNormal-typemove introduced inGeneration V. It is thesignature move ofMeloetta.
Effect
Relic Song deals damage and has a 10% chance of putting the target tosleep. Relic Song hits all adjacent opponents.
Relic Song is asound-based move.
If successfully used byMeloetta (affecting at least one Pokémon), it will also cause Meloetta to change between itsAria and Pirouette Formes,changing its type,base stats, andEV yield. However, if Meloetta's Ability is changed toSheer Force, Sheer Force removes Relic Song's form-changing effect.
Generation V
If used on a Pokémon behind asubstitute, it hits that Pokémon's substitute.
Generation VI onwards
Relic Song can now hit Pokémon even if they are behind a substitute.
Generation VIII
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
Relic Song cannot be selected in a battle.
Generation IX
If MeloettaTerastallizes, the type-changing effect of Relic Song will be nullified.
