Bibarel is the first known Pokémon in Reggie's party. She was chosen to battleAsh's Turtwig inLost Leader Strategy!. Bibarel knows a variety of powerful moves such as Secret Power.Turtwig was almost defeated when Bibarel's Secret Power made it fall asleep. Bibarel eventually fell to Turtwig, however.

Bibarel's known moves areSuper Fang,Secret Power,Take Down, andIce Beam.

Swalot is the second Pokémon Reggie used in his battle against Ash inLost Leader Strategy!. It was chosen to battleAsh's Staravia. Reggie usedStockpile to raise Swalot's defense so that it wasn't so susceptible to Staravia's attacks. Swalot was the only one of Reggie's Pokémon that was victorious against one of Ash's Pokémon, defeating Staravia with a powerfulSpit Up andSludge Bomb.

It made a cameo inFamiliarity Breeds Strategy! where it appeared alongside Reggie andStaraptor in a call fromPaul. It appeared again inBattling a Thaw in Relations! at Reggie's house, along with Staraptor, they were both unhappy to find out Paul had lost.

Swalot's known moves areStockpile,Spit Up, andSludge Bomb.

Staraptor was the final Pokémon Reggie chose in his battle with Ash inLost Leader Strategy!. It was used in a battle againstAsh's Pikachu where it was defeated byVolt Tackle. Staraptor later taughtAsh's StaraviaBrave Bird inCrossing the Battle Line!. It also reappeared in a flashback inAiding the Enemy!.

It made a cameo inFamiliarity Breeds Strategy!, where it appeared alongside Reggie andSwalot in a call fromPaul. It appeared again inBattling a Thaw in Relations! at Reggie's house, along with Swalot, they were both unhappy to find out Paul had lost.

Staraptor's known moves areBrave Bird,Steel Wing, andWing Attack.

Drapion appeared in a flashback inA Pyramiding Rage!, where it was used by Reggie to battleBrandon. It was easily defeated byBrandon's Regirock.

Drapion's only known move isPoison Fang.

DuringAsh's stay inVeilstone City, Reggie was caring for Paul'sElectabuzz, however it was quick to get into a fight withAsh's Pikachu as the two had been holding a grudge for some time.

WhenTeam Galacticattempted to steal the Veilstone Meteorites, Reggie used Electabuzz to fight off theGolbat thatSaturn's grunts were using to create a distraction. During the battle, Electabuzz and Pikachu saved each other from sneak attacks and this helped them end their feud. Afterwards Reggie sent Electabuzz back to Paul for his upcoming battle at thePastoria Gym.

Paul caughtUrsaring inDifferent Strokes for Different Blokes with the help of hisChimchar. Ursaring was seen several times since, often battling with Chimchar.

Paul caughtWeavile while he journeyed throughHoenn,Johto andKanto. Weavile made its first appearance in a battle againstCynthia's Garchomp where it lost, despite the double type-advantage ofIce. Paul sent Weavile out inRiding the Winds of Change! where it worked withElectabuzz to capture Gliscor. Weavile briefly appeared inAiding the Enemy asTorterra's sparring partner. Weavile appeared again inPedal to the Mettle! where it went up againstAsh's Staraptor inAsh and Paul'sFull Battle and lost, despite the type-advantage. InBattling a Thaw in Relations! it was with Reggie along with Paul's Torterra, Ursaring and Honchkrow, disappointed finding out Paul had lost.

Weavile's known moves areBlizzard,Ice Beam,Ice Shard,Swords Dance, andMetal Claw.

Honchkrow's first official appearance was as aMurkrow inTop-Down Training!, in which Paul used it inbattle againstCynthia's Garchomp. Itevolved off-screen betweenRiding the Winds of Change! andLost Leader Strategy!.

Torterra is one of Paul's strongest Pokémon and hisfirst partner Pokémon as well. It made its first appearance inTop-Down Training!, in which it was used in a battle againstCynthia's Garchomp.

Torterra helpedAsh's Grotle cope with its lack of speed afterEvolution.

Paul'sNinjask was caught shortly before Paul metChimchar, as shown in a flashback inGlory Blaze!. It did not appear again until it was used as Paul's fourth Pokémon against Ash in the Lily of the Valley Conference, where it went up againstGliscor. Taking advantage of its superior speed, it managed to cause substantial damage, while not taking in a single hit. Gliscor was thenrecalled in favor ofInfernape, who eliminated Ninjask with the blast wave from anUndergroundFlare Blitz and a successfulMach Punch.

Ninjask's known moves areAgility,Fury Cutter, andGiga Drain, and itsAbility isSpeed Boost.

Paul caughtGliscor inRiding the Winds of Change! after hearing of its reputation as a powerful Pokémon, causing a lot of trouble along with its pack of Gligar. While easily standing up againstElectabuzz and Weavile, it was finally caught by Paul, while Ash was trying to talk with it. Gliscor appeared again inChim - Charred!, in which it was used to battleAsh's Gligar and won the battle rather easily. Gliscor made a brief appearance inAiding the Enemy along with Paul's other Pokémon outside of thePokémon Center while theTeam Rocket trio took care ofPaul's Torterra. Gliscor has not been seen since.

Gliscor's known moves areX-Scissor,Sandstorm,Knock Off, andGuillotine.

Paul choseMagmortar to replace hisChimchar after he released it. It first debuted as aMagmar inLost Leader Strategy!, in which it appeared in a flashback. Magmar made its first real appearance inAiding the Enemy!, sleeping with Paul's other Pokémon.

Magmar's Evolution was revealed inPedal to the Mettle! when Paul chose Magmortar to battleAsh's Pikachu.

Hariyama fought againstBrandon's Regirock, with Paul bringing it out to utilize its type advantage. It appeared to be very powerful, managing to block Regirock's otherwise deadlyStone Edge with its hands and strike with multiple Arm Thrusts. However, it was caught at close range, stunned withShock Wave and subsequently taken out byFocus Punch.

Hariyama's known moves areArm Thrust andForce Palm.

Paul'sNidoking fought againstBrandon's Registeel. Nidoking also proved to be powerful, surprising even Brandon with his ability to recover so quickly from aFlash Cannon to the face. He hit Registeel directly with all of his attacks, but the Drill Pokémon didn't manage to cause much damage to the Iron Pokémon and was defeated with a powerfulIron Head.

Nidoking's known moves areEarth Power,Double Kick, andThunderbolt.

Paul'sAggron first appeared as aLairon inA Pyramiding Rage!, in which it fought againstBrandon's Regice. Despite having a significanttype advantage, it lost in a matter of seconds after only managing to use Iron Defense; Regice froze it solid withIce Beam and then knocked it out with a singleZap Cannon.

InFamiliarity Breeds Strategy!, it was shown to have evolved into Aggron. As Paul's first Pokémon, it went up againstPikachu in the Lily of the Valley Conference match against Ash. With about even strength, Ash made the decision to switch toInfernape. After being successfullyburned byFlare Blitz, it was knocked out by an exceedingly powerfulMach Punch. It was one of the two Pokémon used by Paul to uncover Ash's strategy, the other beingGastrodon.

Aggron's known moves areIron Defense,Metal Claw,Metal Sound,Flash Cannon, andDouble-Edge, and its Ability isRock Head.

Paul'sGastrodon was the second Pokémon used against Ash in the Lily of the Valley Conference, going up againstStaraptor. Adapting Ash's tactics from their previousFull Battles, Gastrodon was shown to be able to easily keep Staraptor off by creating aCounter Shield using Muddy Water. Ash then ordered Staraptor to attack, flying just above the ground, only to be caught by Gastrodon's Body Slam. It then fired Water Pulse directly into the air, planning to dodge the attack descending at an increased speed at the last second. Breaking free by usingClose Combat on the ground, Staraptor was then hit by a direct Ice Beam and subsequently substituted withBuizel. It was at this point Paul realized Ash was using the same Pokémon as last time, much to his amused disbelief. As Gastrodon started off with an Ice Beam, Buizel again used his improvisedIce Aqua Jet, sending Gastrodon flying. Going for another Body Slam from the blast, Buizel countered with anIce Punch, effectively eliminating Gastrodon.

Gastrodon was one of the two Pokémon used by Paul to uncover Ash's strategy, the other being Aggron.

Gastrodon's known moves areMuddy Water,Body Slam,Water Pulse, andIce Beam.

Drapion was the third Pokémon used in the Lily of the Valley Conference match against Ash where it was sent out after Paul had uncovered his strategy. As a result, Drapion was able to successfully eliminate half of Ash's team (Buizel,Staraptor, andTorterra). After defeating Torterra, it was recalled, making Drapion the only Pokémon Paul recalled during the entire battle. Throughout the battle, Drapion's Toxic Spikespoisoned most of Ash's team, untilInfernape's improvisedUndergroundFlare Blitz completely burned them off. Later, Drapion went up againstGliscor and, after a fierce battle, was finally knocked out after being successfullyburned byFire Fang.

Drapion's known moves arePin Missile,Cross Poison,Toxic Spikes, andPoison Fang.

Froslass was the fifth Pokémon used by Paul in his battle against Ash in the Lily of the Valley Conference. Going up againstAsh's Pikachu, she successfully contained hisThunderbolt with Hail, while also activating her Snow Cloak ability, allowing her to constantly disappear and reappear during the battle. Frustrated with the single-sided attacks, Ash ordered Pikachu to useVolt Tackle. As Pikachu went charging towards the oncoming Froslass and ended up going through causing no damage, it seemed Ash was in trouble. Froslass then fired Ice Shard to finish the battle, which Pikachu dodged for a successfulIron Tail, also breaking up the Hail. Pikachu was then frozen by a subsequent Ice Beam, while Froslass was preparing another Ice Shard. Breaking free with Volt Tackle, Pikachu finally took Froslass out of the match.
