Professor Oak's design is based on his appearance inPokémon FireRed and LeafGreen. While Professor Oak is not shown owning a Mew outside this game, it is aMythical Pokémon that was introduced inGeneration I, as Professor Oak himself was. Mew'sDex entry comes fromPokémon Ruby and Sapphire.
