Potpourri Island (Japanese:ポプリ島Potpourri Island) is ananimated series-exclusive location south of theKanto mainland. It is accessible by boat fromFuchsia City. There is a town on one side of the island, calledWisteria Town.

In animation

FollowingAsh'sBattle Pike victory, the group arrived on Potpourri Island inOff the Unbeaten Path. The group andTeam Rocket participated in the annualPokémon Orienteering event alongside one of their Pokémon in a race to find stamps at five checkpoints across the island.James andMime Jr. managed to win the competition and earn the large food prize, which he gave away to Ash and friends for saving thePokémon Center Nursery's Pokémon fromJessie andMeowth's clutches.

In thenext episode, Ash and his friends traveled to the other side of the island in order to reach Wisteria Town, where aPokémon Contest was going to take place.May, herrival Harley, and several otherCoordinators entered the event hoping to win the coveted WisteriaRibbon. May and Harley were pitched against one another in the final round, and Harley managed to defeat herMunchlax using hisOctillery, thus winning the competition and earning his fourth KantoRibbon.
