Pokémon Tretta Lab (Japanese:ポケモントレッタラボPokémon Tretta Lab) is an accessory for theNintendo 3DS developed byTakara Tomy A.R.T.S. andMarvelous AQL, who also developed thePokémon Tretta arcade game. The game was announced on May 9, 2013, and was released in Japan on August 10, 2013 with three Tretta:Eevee,Mewtwo, andLucario. The first printings of the set also contained aPichu Tretta.
The Tretta Scanner reads Tretta, and is powered by three AA batteries and communicates with the 3DS using its two front-facing cameras. It was available in two models: one for the 3DS and one for the 3DS XL, and could be purchased for ¥3800. The Tretta Scanner also contains a download code for the free applicationPokémon Tretta Lab Main System (Japanese:ポケモントレッタラボメインシステムPokémon Tretta Lab Main System) from the Nintendo eShop. The software includes three modes: the Tretta Analyzer, which displays information on Tretta; the Type Checker, which compares two Tretta; and Auto Battle, which allows the player to battle opponents.
