Pokémon Presents

Pokémon Presents is a periodical presentation fromThe Pokémon Company in which news and updates about thePokémon franchise is shared. Originally, news about upcoming events, updates, and games was shared via theNintendo Channel on theWii and Nintendo Video onNintendo 3DS. In 2011,Nintendo launched theirNintendo Direct series, which provides news via pre-recorded video presentations. An offshoot of this focused exclusively on Pokémon, titledPokémon Direct, began in 2013. Along with occasional live press conferences, this format continued until 2020, when it was replaced by the Pokémon Presents format.
This article lists all of these Pokémon presentations and the major announcements made in each of them.
2013

January 8, 2013
On December 29, 2012, a teaser was added to the end of aPokémon Black 2 and White 2 commercial that revealed there would be a special announcement on January 8, 2013. On January 3, 2013, theinternational Pokémon websites posted a message to return to their respective site on January 8, 2013 for a special announcement.
On January 7, 2013, it was revealed that the announcement would be a special edition of Nintendo Direct, which would be namedPokémon Direct, and that it would be broadcast simultaneously around the world (Japan 8pm JST,United Kingdom 11am GMT, andUnited States 6am EST).
The Pokémon Direct was presented bySatoru Iwata who began withthe history of the franchise and was concluded with the reveal ofGeneration VI with two new games for theNintendo 3DS, calledPokémon X and Y. A trailer was shown, introducing the threefirst partner Pokémon,Chespin,Froakie, andFennekin, snippets of both overworld and battle gameplay, and ending with the reveal of two legendary Pokémon, later revealed to be namedXerneas andYveltal, respectively. In addition, Iwata also stated that, for the first time in the franchise's history, the games would be released simultaneously worldwide in October 2013.

A second edition of Pokémon Direct was announced on September 3, 2013 and aired the following day on September 4, 2013 (Japan 8pm JST, Europe 1pm CEST,United Kingdom 12pm BST, andUnited States 7am EDT).
It revealed a new service calledPokémon Bank and an associated transfer service calledPoké Transporter. Besides the aforementioned features, the opportunity of the player to receive one of theKanto first partner Pokémon fromProfessor Sycamore was revealed, along with their respectiveMega Evolutions (in Charizard's case, only Mega Charizard Y was revealed, though it was referred to as simply "Mega Charizard" at the time), and with theMega Ring, an item associated with such evolutionary phenomena. The give-away of the mainKalos first partner Pokémon, on the other hand, was revealed to be made byTierno, one of the player's friends. The release of two special Pokémon-themed editions of theNintendo 3DS XL was announced for both the United States and Europe.
A new Pokémon,Furfrou, was also accidentally revealed for a split second, which is part of 15:18 on the official video from the Nintendo Direct website, and at 15:11 on Nintendo's YouTube upload.

ThePokémon GO Press Conference (Japanese:新事業戦略発表会New Business Strategy Announcement) was a live press conference announced and held on September 10, 2015, revealing the smartphone gamePokémon GO as a collaboration betweenThe Pokémon Company,Niantic, andNintendo. It was hosted byTsunekazu Ishihara,John Hanke,Junichi Masuda, andShigeru Miyamoto.
The conference was presented in Japanese and English with consecutive interpretation and streamed onNiconico. A video of the conference was later uploaded to the official English and Japanese Pokémon YouTube channels.

A third edition of Pokémon Direct was announced on February 24, 2016 and was scheduled for midnight onPokémon Day in Japan for thePokémon 20th Anniversary (Japan 12am JST, Europe 4pm CET,United Kingdom 3pm GMT, andUnited States 10am EST).
The presentation was hosted byTsunekazu Ishihara ofThe Pokémon Company. A retrospective trailer was broadcast, culminating in a developmental preview and the announcement of the Nintendo 3DS videogamesPokémon Sun and Moon. It was indicated that a worldwide holiday 2016 release was planned for the games. Additionally, the games of Pokémon Sun and Moon were also stated to incorporate playability in nine languages - the returning languages include Japanese, English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Korean from Pokémon X and Y, while Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese are set to make their debuts as language options.
The 2016 re-releases of PokémonPokémon Red, Blue, andYellow on theVirtual Console platform were also reiterated. Subsequently, connectivity capabilities of handheld consoles were reviewed: theGame Boy'sLink Cable, theGame Boy Advance'sWireless Adapter, and the worldwide Internet-based interactions of theNintendo DS and the Nintendo 3DS. It was later revealed that Pokémon who originate from the Virtual Console variants of Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow Versions (as well as the Japanese editions ofPokémon Red, Green, andBlue, as mentioned in the Japanese broadcast) will be able to be transferred to Pokémon Sun and Moon by way ofPokémon Bank.

ThePokémon 2018 Video Game Press Conference (Japanese:ポケモン新作発表会Pokémon New Work Announcement) was was a live press conference announced and held on May 30, 2018, announcing the spin-off gamePokémon Quest for theNintendo Switch and mobile devices, thecore series titlePokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! for Nintendo Switch, as well as afuture core series title for 2019. It was hosted byTsunekazu Ishihara,Shigeru Ohmori,Junichi Masuda of The Pokémon Company, Shinya Takahashi of Nintendo, and Tatsuo Nomura andJohn Hanke ofNiantic.
The conference was presented in Japanese and English with consecutive interpretation and was live-tweeted by the official@Pokemon and@poke_times Twitter accounts. A video of the conference was later uploaded to the official English and Japanese Pokémon YouTube channels, as well as subtitled versions for the official French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Korean YouTube channels.

The presentation was hosted byTsunekazu Ishihara ofThe Pokémon Company andJunichi Masuda andShigeru Ohmori fromGame Freak.Pokémon Sword and Shield were announced for a simultaneous release worldwide in late 2019 on theNintendo Switch. A trailer showed snippets of both overworld and battle gameplay, ending with a CGI cinematic introducing the threefirst partner Pokémon,Grookey,Scorbunny, andSobble. Post-trailer, Ohmori revealed the names of the first partner Pokémon as well as a map of the games' region,Galar.

ThePokémon 2019 Press Conference (Japanese:ポケモン事業戦略発表会Pokémon Business Strategy Announcement) was a live press conference announced on May 27, 2019 and held on May 29, 2019 (Japan 10am JST, Europe 3am CET,United Kingdom 2am BST, andUnited States 9pm EDT). It was presented in Japanese, English, and Chinese with simultaneous interpretation after the initial comments by Ishihara presented with consecutive interpretation and was live-streamed worldwide onTwitch in English and YouTube in Japanese. The stream was initially planned to also be live-streamed in Chinese onbilibili, but was canceled due to network issues.
It announced aDetective Pikachu game for theNintendo Switch, a newPokémon Center store inShibuya, the cloud servicePokémon HOME, the mobile applicationPokémon Sleep, thePokémon GO Plus + device, and the spin-off gamePokémon Masters for mobile devices. It was hosted byTsunekazu Ishihara of The Pokémon Company, Hiro Matsuoka ofToho, Yoriomi Uego ofPokémon Center, Ethan Wang of NetEase Games,Junichi Masuda ofGame Freak, Kazuhiro Maruyama of Nintendo, andJohn Hanke ofNiantic.
As with the previous live conference, it was live-tweeted by the official @Pokemon and @poke_times Twitter accounts. A video of the conference was later uploaded to the official English Pokémon YouTube channel and the official ChineseWeibo account.

A seventh edition of Pokémon Direct was revealed on January 7, 2020 and aired on January 9, 2020 (Japam 11:30pm JST, Europe 3:30pm CET,United Kingdom 2:30pm GMT, andUnited States 9:30am EST). The presentation was hosted byTsunekazu Ishihara ofThe Pokémon Company andJunichi Masuda andShigeru Ohmori from Game Freak.
It began with a quick reveal ofPokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX for theNintendo Switch, a remake of 2005'sPokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team. The game was given a release date of March 6, 2020, and a demo was made available after the presentation, with progress in the demo able to be transferred to the full game. Following this was the reveal trailer for thePokémon Sword and Shield Expansion Pass, with the announcement that Game Freak has chosen to expand the original games instead of releasing an updated game likePokémon Platinum orPokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.Hiroyuki Tani, the director at Game Freak overseeing the Expansion Pass, gave an overview of the two parts of the expansion,The Isle of Armor, releasing in June 2020, andThe Crown Tundra, releasing in Fall 2020.Pokémon HOME was also announced to have a February 2020 release.

Unlike previous presentations, this Pokémon Presents was not advertised for Western regions until 30 minutes before the presentation started, as The Pokémon Company did not heavily promote the event there and were unable to postpone it worldwide in light of theongoing invasion of Ukraine by Russia.[1]

The presentation was hosted byTakato Utsunomiya ofThe Pokémon Company. The presentation announced new information on the upcomingPokémon Scarlet and Violet, such as the region, the story, the rideable legendary PokémonKoraidon andMiraidon, the characters, new Pokémon andregional forms, and new features such as co-op play, theTerastal phenomenon, and Tera raids.
The presentation also announced thePokémon World Championships event that will be held on August 18–21, 2022 in London, which will includePokémon GO andPokémon UNITE tournaments for the first time. Additionally, the presentation announced the Pokémon GO Fest event held on August 5–7, 2022 in Sapporo, Japan; the Pokémon GO Fest 2022 finale event on August 27, 2022; updates to Pokémon UNITE in celebration of the game's 1st anniversary; updates forPokémon Masters EX in celebration of its 3rd anniversary; andMewtwo's return to Pokémon Café ReMix through a limited-time event.

The presentation was hosted byTsunekazu Ishihara andTakato Utsunomiya ofThe Pokémon Company. The presentation began by announcing the dates for the upcomingPokémon World Championships inYokohama, Japan as August 11–13, 2023. Also announced was thePokémon Trading Card Game Classic set, and a stop-motion animated series titledPokémon Concierge created in collaboration withNetflix.
For games, the presentation announced DLC content forPokémon Scarlet and Violet, entitledThe Hidden Treasure of Area Zero. The DLC will be delivered in two parts,The Teal Mask in autumn 2023, andThe Indigo Disk in winter 2023. The presentation also gave new details aboutPokémon Sleep and thePokémon GO Plus + peripheral (both first announced at thePokémon 2019 Press Conference) with the game coming in summer 2023 and the peripheral due to be released on July 14, 2023 in most regions.
Also announced were the inclusion ofZacian inPokémon UNITE; the inclusion ofPaldea first partner PokémonSprigatito,Fuecoco, andQuaxly inPokémon Café ReMix; and newsync pairs and bonuses inPokémon Masters EX in celebration of the game's 3.5-year anniversary.

The eighth Pokémon Presents was announced on August 4, 2023, and aired on August 8, 2023 (Japan 10pm JST, Europe 3pm CEDT,United Kingdom 2pm BST, andUnited States 9am EDT).
The presentation was hosted byTakato Utsunomiya ofThe Pokémon Company. It began by showcasing information on the2023Pokémon World Championships in Yokohama, including exclusive product lines that will be awarded as participation and Champion prizes. A new Worlds-exclusiveTCG card,Paradise Resort, was announced, along with an exclusive Worlds Pikachu plush. The presentation also announced various activities to do in Yokohama during the event, such as photo-ops, Pikachu Parades, and the Pokémon Trainer Cruise, a docked cruise ship that eventgoers can visit.
Two new animated series were announced:Pokémon: Path to the Peak, based on thePokémon Trading Card Game and premiering on August 11, 2023, during the World Championships; andPokémon: Paldean Winds, based onPokémon Scarlet and Violet. Also announced is the English broadcast ofPokémon Horizons: The Series.
For spin-off games, the presentation showcased an extended narrated preview ofDetective Pikachu Returns, as well as the release ofPokémon Trading Card Game andPokémon Stadium 2 for theNintendo Switch Online.
Announcements forPokémon GO included the debut ofDiancie,Mega Diancie, and Mega Rayquaza duringPokémon GO Fest events inLondon,Osaka, andNew York City, as well as a global GO Fest event that will be held on August 26–27, 2023. Additionally,Generation IX Pokémon will debut in Pokémon GO starting September 2023.
ForPokémon Masters EX, the firstsync pair from thePaldea region, Nemona & Pawmot, was revealed to be making her debut alongside astory event, which began at the same time as the presentation. This came alongside the announcement of the new Sprint and Field roles, which were given to Nemona & Pawmot and the newly announced Victor & Spectrier, respectively. Other events and bonuses for the run-up to the game's four-year anniversary were also announced.
A new battle mode called Panic Parade and the debut ofMewtwo forPokémon UNITE were announced, as well as special bonuses to celebrate the game's 2-year anniversary. Other mobile game announcements included the debut ofTatsugiri forPokémon Café ReMix and aGood Sleep Day event forPokémon Sleep to be held during a full moon, in whichSnorlax's Drowsy Power will be stronger than usual.
Finally, the presentation closed with several announcements forPokémon Scarlet and Violet. ATera Raid Battle event entitled "Get Mew & Mewtwo!" was announced, in which playersmay receive aMew and battle against a TeraMewtwo with the Mightiest Mark. Additionally, a trailer and extended preview onThe Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC partsThe Teal Mask andThe Indigo Disk were showcased. Several new Pokémon were revealed, namelyDipplin,Archaludon,Raging Bolt, andIron Crown.
The VOD for this Pokémon Presents was reuploaded on August 16, 2023 in Japanese and Korean, and on August 17, 2023 worldwide, in order to replace a snippet of a fanmade music cover used in the Scarlet and Violet DLC trailer.[2][3] The original VODs and trailers have since been removed.

The ninth Pokémon Presents was announced on February 20, 2024, and aired onPokémon Day (Japan 11pm JST, Europe 3pm CET,United Kingdom 2pm GMT, andUnited States 9am EST).
The presentation was hosted byTsunekazu Ishihara andTakato Utsunomiya ofThe Pokémon Company. The presentation began with announcingTera Raid Battle events forPokémon Scarlet and Violet featuringVenusaur from February 28 to March 5,Blastoise from March 6 to 12, and a re-run ofCharizard from March 13 to 17. The presentation then announced aPokémon Horizons: The Series crossover event inPokémon GO, debutingPikachu wearingCaptain Pikachu's hat,Charcadet,Armarouge, andCeruledge into the game.
ForPokémon Sleep, it was announced thatRaikou,Suicune, andEntei would be added to the game, and an event distribution of 10 Poké Biscuits and 1,000 diamonds would be available until April 30, 2024. ForPokémon Masters EX, the presentation announced the debuts of Silver (Champion) & Tyranitar and Geeta & Glimmora, alongside an in-game photo creator. ForPokémon Café ReMix, the debuts ofGimmighoul andGholdengo were announced, alongside a "Friendly Chefs from Paldea" event held from February 27 to March 14, 2024, which lets players add specially outfittedSprigatito,Fuecoco, andQuaxly to their staff. Finally, the presentation announcedMiraidon's debut inPokémon UNITE beginning on February 27, 2024, withFalinks andCeruledge announced to debut later during the year.
ThePokémon Trading Card Game Pocket was later announced — a mobile game based on thePokémon Trading Card Game which lets players collect, trade, and play with digital cards.Yuji Kitano ofCreatures, Inc. briefly hosted the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket segment.
Finally, a trailer for a newcore series game,Pokémon Legends: Z-A, was shown, scheduled to release on theNintendo Switch in 2025.

The tenth Pokémon Presents was announced on February 20, 2025, and aired onPokémon Day (Japan 11pm JST, Europe 3pm CET,United Kingdom 2pm GMT, andUnited States 9am EST).
The presentation was hosted byTsunekazu Ishihara andTakato Utsunomiya ofThe Pokémon Company. The presentation began by announcing a release window of September 2025 forPokémon Concierge's second season. Coinciding with this, all 4 episodes from the series' first season were viewable on Pokémon's official YouTube channel for free until March 9, 2025.
Afterwards, the presentation shifted focus to the following live-service game updates:
- ForPokémon GO, the Pokémon GO Tour: Unova Global was announced for March 1 - 2. During this event, BlackKyurem and White Kyurem would appear inRaid Battles "and elsewhere".
- Victini was also announced to be available through a Tour Pass Deluxe, whileShinyMeloetta would appear through completing Masterwork Research.
- The promo code "GOTOURUNOVA" was shared - by entering this code, players could encounter aUnova first partner Pokémon of their choice.
- The segment concluded with a teaser for GO's nextseason, Might & Mastery, from March 4 to June 3, during whichKubfu andUrshifu would appear.
- ForPokémon Masters EX, a trailer promoting the game's 5.5th anniversary update was shown, with focus on the new sync pairs May (Champion) & Kyogre and Brendan (Champion) & Groudon, as well as a 3,000 gem login bonus.
- ForPokémon Café ReMix, a new event featuring anAppletun-themed menu item was announced to start on February 28, 2025. Players that complete the event could choose eitherFlapple or Appletun to join their staff.
- Shop packs featuringSprigatito,Fuecoco, andQuaxly in sweets outfits would also become available for purchase on February 28 - March 14, March 14 - 28, and March 28 - April 11, respectively.
- Pikachu andEevee would be available to players for free for logging in once and three times respectively for Pokémon Day special stamps, from February 27 to March 14.
- ForPokémon Sleep, an event featuringDarkrai andCresselia was teased to be coming soon.
- ForPokémon Unite, a newholowear outfit was teased forHo-Oh, alongside new playable PokémonSuicune (releasing March 1),Alolan Raichu (releasing in April), andAlcremie ("coming soon").
- The battle mapRemoat Stadium would return for ranked matches from February 27 to March 12.
- The new mode "first to 500" was announced, which uses a new feature calledAeos technology to grant special effects at certain point score thresholds. All Pokémon can be used in the mode, regardless of whether the player possesses the Pokémon'sUnite license.
- Players could enter the code "POKEDAY25" for a Platinum SuicuneBoost Emblem from February 27 to March 31.
- ForPokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, the new themed booster packTriumphant Light was announced to release on February 28.
- In celebration of Pokémon Day, players could log in for specialGenetic Apex booster packs that guarantee at least one card of rarity

For the physicalPokémon Trading Card Game,Mega Evolution would return and be available for certainPokémon ex in 2025.
ForPokémon Scarlet and Violet, promotional codes forRotom Phone cases were released. Players of Scarlet can enter the code "SB00KC0VER" to receive a case based on theScarlet Book, while players of Violet can enter "VB00KC0VER" for a case based on theViolet Book. The codes are version-exclusive, and cannot be used in the opposite version. Additionally,Poké Portal News events were announced:
- From February 28 to March 20,mass outbreaks of red, green, and blue Pokémon would appear.

- Future Tera Raid Battle events featuring Pokémon with the Mightiest Mark were teased, specifically showingTyranitar,Salamence,Metagross,Garchomp,Hydreigon,Goodra,Kommo-o,Dragapult, andBaxcalibur.
The presentation transitioned into a montage of Pokémon battles in pastcore series andside series games, leading into an announcement of the new gamePokémon Champions, to be released forNintendo Switch and mobile devices, which focuses on Pokémon battles and features bothMega Evolution andTerastallization. It was also announced that it would be able to connect withPokémon HOME, allowing players to use their own Pokémon caught in other games. No release window was announced.
Following the Pokémon Champions announcement, Latin American Spanish support for Pokémon Champions,Pokémon Legends: Z-A, and future Trading Card Game expansions was announced byTomás Cortijo, the regional director ofTPCi'sLatin American branch.
The presentation concluded with a new trailer and details forPokémon Legends: Z-A, showing gameplay for the first time and revealing various characters, as well as a brief overview of the game's exploration and real-time battle system.

The eleventh Pokémon Presents was announced on May 28, 2025 and aired on July 22, 2025 (Japan 10pm JST, Europe 3pm CEST,United Kingdom 2pm BST, andUnited States 9am EDT). "DJ Pikachu" was played as a pre-show for one hour prior to the presentation.
The presentation opened with a preview of the2025 Pokémon World Championships. This included a preview of the 2025 print ofParadise Resort (SVP Promo 45), which will be given to tournament participants; and an announcement of aToedscool distribution for Scarlet and Violet, available to attendees.
A trailer for the second season ofPokémon Concierge was shown, with a release date of September 4, 2025 onNetflix.
Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch'd & Pichu, a newstop-motionanimated series byAardman Animations and set inGalar, was announced with a trailer and a release window of 2027.
PokéPark Kanto, an area in Japan'sYomiuriland amusement park, was announced with a concept trailer and a scale model. The area's grand opening is scheduled for early 2026.
Afterwards, the presentation shifted to the following live-service game updates:
- ForPokémon GO, the "Pokémon GO Fest: Max Finale" event was announced for August 23 and 24, 2025. Several Max Pokémon will appear during the event, andEternatus will make its global debut in the game.
- The promo code GOFESTMAX was also released, which allows players to to encounter and catch one Pokémon of choice from the following:GigantamaxCinderace,Rillaboom, orInteleon. The code expired August 3rd, 2025, but the tasks in it could be completed until August 24, 2025.
- ForPokémon Masters EX, thesync pair Carmine & Sinistea was announced to release on July 29, 2025.
- ForPokémon Café ReMix,Lapras in a 5-star sea captain outfit will be available from July 23 to August 21, 2025.
- Sea adventure themed Café decorations would also release, but no date was given.
- AlolanMeowth,Totodile, andMinccino in crew-themed outfits would be available form July 23 to August 1, August 1 to 11, and August 11 to 21, respectively.
- Jigglypuff in its summer fun outfit could be unlocked by logging in between July 22 and August 21, 2025.
- ForPokémon Sleep, research forRaikou,Entei, andSuicune was announced to release in September 2025.
- A new area,Amber Canyon, was announced for November 2025.
- ForPokémon Unite,Latias was announced for August 8, 2025, commemorating the game's 4th anniversary and complementing the prior release ofLatios a few days before the broadcast.
- A new mode,Electrode Volleyball, was made available after the broadcast.
- The gift code UNITE0722 was shown, which gave a 3-day limited license forLatios, as well as platinumBoost Emblems of Latios and Latias. This code could be redeemed until August 31, 2025.
- Pawmot was teased to be added in the future.
A trailer for theTCG expansionMega Evolution was shown, with a release date of September 26, 2025.
Pokémon Friends, a new puzzle game forNintendo Switch and mobile devices, was announced and released after the broadcast.
ForPokémon Scarlet and Violet,Tera Raid Battle events forshiny versions of thetreasures of ruin were announced. These raid bosses cannot be caught, however each boss that is defeated 1 million times among all players, will then be distributed to all players viaMystery Gift. This count is separate for each of the four Pokémon.[4]
- Mass Outbreaks ofGrass,Ice,Ground, andFiretype Pokémon would run alongside the boss events of the matching type.
- A code for a track suit clothing item was released. The code STRACKSU1T can only be used in Scarlet, and the code VTRACKSU1T can only be used in Violet.
ForPokémon Champions, a gameplay overview trailer was shown. This included a recruitment system, where Pokémon can be obtained on a 7-day trial or permanently without needing to transfer from acore series game; a training menu that allows for customizing a Pokémon'sEffort Values,moves,nature, andability;single andDouble Battles; as well as ranked and private battles. The game is scheduled to release in 2026.
The presentation concluded with a new trailer forPokémon Legends: Z-A, which showed off several new characters, some story details, and a newMega-Evolved form forDragonite.
- An early purchase bonus of aRalts holding aGardevoirite would be available until February 28, 2026.
- Digital versions of the game will have an additional early purchase bonus of 100Poké Balls, with the code claimable until February 28, 2026 and redeemable until March 10, 2026.
