Pokémon Performers (Japanese:ポケモンパフォーマーPokémon Performer) arefemaleTrainers who raisePokémon to compete inPokémon Showcases, where they demonstrate theirpartnership in a number of activities.

Role

A Performer's job is to create dance routines and movement sequences for herPokémon and herself, as they have to show the audience how well coordinated they are together through their performance. They also must be able to use their Pokémon's capabilities and skills to their advantage, displaying theirmoves and characteristics in an entertaining way. This is similar to howPokémon Coordinators show off their Pokémon in thePerformance Stage of aPokémon Contest, but the key difference is that Performers have to involve themselves in the performances.

Since there are different themes used during the first round of aPokémon Showcase, Performers have to excel in other activities as well, such as bakingPoké Puffs and dressing up their Pokémon withaccessories. They can also usePokévision videos as a way to promote themselves for Pokémon Showcases.

Performers who win a Rookie Class tournament are awarded with aPrincess Key. Once they have collected at least three Princess Keys they can enter the Master Class tournament, where they compete for the title of Kalos Queen.

Kalos Queen

Aria as Kalos Queen

The title ofKalos Queen (Japanese:カロスクイーンKalos Queen) is awarded to a Pokémon Performer who has won thePokémon Showcase Master Class. It is the goal of every Performer to win the title. Winners are also given a gold-colored trophy, as well as tiaras for themselves and their Pokémon.

Unlike the title ofTop Coordinator, which is permanently held byCoordinators who have won theGrand Festival, there can only be one Kalos Queen at a time, mirroring theChampion status of aTrainer who has won theChampion League. Like the League Champion, the Kalos Queen has to defend her title from challengers. If defeated, she must relinquish her title to the winning Performer.

The current Kalos Queen isAria, who managed to keep the title after winning theGloire Showcase Master Class. Aria's mentor,Palermo, used to hold the title of Kalos Queen.
