ThePlatinum arc (Japanese:プラチナ編Platinum arc), also referred to asThe Eighth Chapter (Japanese:第八章The Eighth Chapter), is the eighth story arc of thePokémon Adventuresmanga, consisting of three volumes. It began serialization in March 2009, and ended in July 2010.
This arc followsPlatinum as she enters theBattle Frontier to gather information on the mysteriousDistortion World so she can rescue her original bodyguardsPaka and Uji. Joining Platinum isLooker, a member of theInternational Police, who aims to investigate the villainousTeam Galactic. Meanwhile,Diamond andPearl set out to protect Sinnoh'sLegendary Pokémon from Team Galactic's new leader,Charon.
