Pete Pebbleman

Pete Pebbleman (Japanese:セイジSeiji) is acharacter of the day who appeared inFire and Ice. He is aTrainer fromPewter City who participated in theIndigo Plateau Conference.
Pete was the third opponentAsh faced in the Indigo Plateau Conference. Their battle took place on the Ice Field. With both sides down one Pokémon (in battles that took place offscreen), Pete'sCloyster nearly defeatedAsh's Kingler by trying to wearKingler out by usingWithdraw, while Kingler kept whacking Cloyster's hard shell withCrabhammer. However, Kingler's attacks paid off after a while and Cloyster was finally defeated.
Pete then sent outArcanine. Despite the type disadvantage, Pete's Arcanine easily defeated Kingler by dodging Kingler'sBubble and then usingDragon Rage.Pikachu was then sent into the battlefield. WhilePikachu usedAgility to confuse Arcanine, Arcanine continued to useFire Blast, melting the Ice Field, in order to prevent Pikachu from using Agility. Pikachu then dove into the water and shocked Arcanine withThunderbolt, which channeled through the melted ice, becoming more powerful, thus defeating Arcanine. Because of his loss, Pete was eliminated from the tournament.

Cloyster's only appearance was inFire and Ice, where in the third round of theIndigo League it battledAsh on the Ice Field against hisKingler, after they had both won one battle each. Kingler started with aCrabhammer, but Cloyster usedWithdraw. However, Kingler hammered away at its shell. Cloyster kept losingstamina and in the end, theBivalve Pokémon's shell cracked and it fainted.
Cloyster's only known move isWithdraw.

Arcanine's only appearance was inFire and Ice, where, in the third round of theIndigo League, it battledAsh on the Ice Field against hisKingler, after it had defeated Cloyster. Kingler usedBubble, but Arcanine dodged it and usedDragon Rage, defeating Kingler. Ash then sent outPikachu and usedAgility; Arcanine usedFire Blast, but it could not match Pikachu's speed. The ice started to melt, turning it into water. Pikachu dove underwater and used aThunderbolt, which channeled through the water. Arcanine was hit hard by this and fainted, giving Ash his third win.
Arcanine's known moves areDragon Rage andFire Blast.
Pete also owns at least one more Pokémon, as he faced Ash in a 3-on-3 battle.
