Oscar (Japanese:オスカーOscar) andAndi (Japanese:アンドリューAndrew) are a young couple fromHoenn who are deeply in love with each other. They arecharacters of the day who appeared in thePokémon the Series: Ruby and Sapphire episodeThe Bicker the Better. They may have been based on theYoung Couple Trainer class, though they are dressed much more formally than the game class.
Oscar and Andi love taking part inTag Battles with theirNidoking andNidoqueen. They also claim to have a knack for spotting couples in love. When they spottedAsh andMay arguing, they claimed that each had romantic feelings for the other. Ash and May's persistent arguing at the time, combined with this accusation, diminished their concentration, and the enamored couple were able to defeat them without a problem. Similarly, they sawJessie andJames, and claimed that they too were a couple. Even thoughTeam Rocket was able to look past this, they were still defeated.
