Origin mark

Anorigin mark (Japanese:出身マークorigin mark), previously known as anorigin marking (Japanese:出身地マークplace of origin mark) inPokémon Bank, is an icon displayed on thesummary screen of a Pokémon that indicates thegame it originated in. It was introduced inGeneration VI, and has appeared in all subsequentcore series games. A Pokémon can only have one origin mark, and it cannot be changed.
Pokémon that arecaught, bred, received asgifts,in-game trades, orMystery Gifts, or otherwise first obtained in certain games will have an origin mark corresponding to that game. Specifically, all games fromGeneration VI onward, as well asGeneration I andII games, have corresponding origin marks. A bred Pokémon's origin mark always matches the game in which it was bred, regardless of its parents' origin marks.Shedinja produced by theEvolution of aNincada will retain the Nincada's origin mark, regardless of the game it was evolved in.
On thesummary screen, the origin mark is usually placed near themarkings.
