Nihei (Japanese:ニヘイNihei) is a recurring character inPokémon the Series: XY. He is the younger brother ofIppei and the older brother ofSanpei and hails fromNinja Village. Nihei is the second strongest of the village, only behind Ippei.

History

Nihei was first mentioned bySanpei inA Rush of Ninja Wisdom!, and was only featured in a fantasy.

Nihei physically debuted inThe Legend of the Ninja Hero!, where he was making preparations for the village festival. He welcomed Sanpei, when he returned to the village, accompanied byAsh and hishis friends. He then hadPokémon battle with Sanpei to test his brother's strength, and managed to win despite having thetype disadvantage.

While he and Ippei showed Sanpei and Ash's group the temple dedicated to the village's heroes,Ninja Village came under attack fromKagetomo and his Ninja Corps. Nihei accompanied Ippei in facing the army ofSkarmory while Sanpei and Ash tried to protect chiefHanzo. While the brothers did their best, the enemy forces suddenly retreated after achieving their main aim - kidnapping Hanzo. Thanks toSaizo, Nihei joined the others and headed forOtori Mountain to save Hanzo.

Upon arriving at Otori Mountain, the group got attacked byHeidayu and the ninja army. InA Festival of Decisions!, Nihei used hisVenusaur to battle the enemy ninjas, alongsideSerena,Clemont andShinobu. They eventually managed beat them, while Ippei defeated Kagetomo and saved Hanzo.

The day after the village's festival, Nihei said goodbye to Ash and his friends. After their departure he informed Ippei and Hanzo about themysterious power ofAsh's Greninja he had witnessed.

Character

Nihei is highly regarded for his strengths and skills as a Trainer, coming only second to his older brotherIppei. Like his other brothers, he has a competitive streak and is equally dedicated to protectingNinja Village from harm.

Venusaur is Nihei's only known Pokémon. Together, they are the second-strongest team fromNinja Village.

Venusaur first appeared inA Rush of Ninja Wisdom!, albeit only in a fantasy. He made his first physical appearance inThe Legend of the Ninja Hero!, where he was used in a battle againstSanpei'sGreninja. Using his vines to block incoming attacks and his ninja techniques, Venusaur was able to best Greninja and ultimately defeat it with a supereffectiveSolar Beam. Later, he was sent out again to face the ninja army'sSkarmory. Inthe next episode, Venusaur was used to battle the ninja army's Pokémon and defeated aGengar with Solar Beam.

Venusaur's known moves areDouble Team*,Vine Whip,Razor Leaf,Petal Blizzard, andSolar Beam.
