TheMysteryBerry (Japanese:ふしぎなきのみMystery Fruit) is a type ofBerry exclusive to theGeneration II games. It restores 5PP to a Pokémon.

FromGeneration III onward, the MysteryBerry is succeeded by theLeppa Berry (although the Leppa Berry restores 10 PP instead).

Terminology

InGeneration II games, this is displayed in all-caps:MYSTERYBERRY.

InPokémon Gold and Silver: Official Nintendo Player's Guide (page 108), this item is namedMystery Berry.

MysteryBerries inThe Mysterious Rainbow of Colors

InThe Mysterious Rainbow of Colors, twoPichu are collecting floating Mystery Berries deep in the forest. They discover a mysterious rainbow fog, which originates from a nearby cottage. Inside, they find aMeowth trying to make a rainbow with a concoction in a vat, but the rainbow drifts at the ground. The Pichu add their floating MysteryBerries to the vat, which allows the rainbow to arc through the sky as intended.

InThe Mysterious Stockings, a box of Mystery Berries appears inPiplup's dream along with other items from the Daisuki Tales books.
