Mt. Faraway (Japanese:遥かなる霊峰Sacred Mt. Faraway) is adungeon inPokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team andPokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX that contains 40^RB/60^RTDX floors. It is home toHo-Oh.

Mt. Faraway is the fourth and final dungeon inthe quest for the Mirage Pokémon. After defeatingSuicune inNorthwind Field, it will turn the Sunset Wing into theRainbow Wing, allowing access to the dungeon.

After completing the dungeon and talking to Spinda inPokémon Square, it will leave and return to exploring dungeons again. Spinda has special dialogue if talked to with Ho-Oh as the team leader; this is only accessible in the original games, not the remake.

Gameplay

Generation III

In the original games, HMSurf is required to enter and the game will be saved compulsorily before entering. TheFriend Bow can be found behind a locked door on floor 30 of the dungeon. If the player already has one, it will be replaced by a Link Cable. There is randomweather effect on floors 4, 8, 10, 14, 17, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32, 34 and 36. Additionally, light darkness shrouds floors 14-39, limiting field of view to 2 tiles in hallways.

Unlike most dungeons, the player has 30 chances to attempt to rescue another player usingSOS Mail, rather than the customary 10.

Generation VIII

In the remake, while battling Ho-Oh at the top of the dungeon, there is an exclusiveweather effect known asRainbow Light (Japanese:にじのひかりRainbow Light). While the floor is in that weather condition, Ho-Oh is gradually healed and is protected from bad statuses. As Rainbow Light is a weather effect, its effects can be nullified by a Pokémon withCloud Nine orAir Lock as its Ability.

The Friend Bow can no longer be found in this dungeon, and can instead be found atSolar Cave.

AMystery House is guaranteed to spawn at 30F, though they may appear on other floors as well.
