Mr. Sukizo (Japanese:スキゾーさんMr. Sukizō) is a recurring character inPokémon the Series. He is thePresident of thePokémon Fan Club and, along withMr. Contesta andNurse Joy, one of thejudges ofPokémon Contests. He first appeared inAll Things Bright and Beautifly!.

His appearance resembles that of a malePoké Fan, which may have served as inspiration for his design.

Pokémon the Series: Ruby and Sapphire

Mr. Sukizo debuted in a non-speaking appearance inAll Things Bright and Beautifly!, where he was the judge of theRustboro CityPokémon Contest. At the start of the competition, theannouncer introduced him as the President of thePokémon Enthusiasts Club. Later, during the first round, Mr. Sukizo showed disappointment upon seeing the presentation ofMademoiselle Jessica, who failed to display themoves and skills of herSeviper. As such, he gave her a zero.

During theBattle Stage of theR1Rubello Contest inCruisin' for a Losin', Mr. Sukizo ruledBattle Off forMay's Bulbasaur during her match againstSavannah'sLairon. He showed indignation whenMay, ignoring his ruling and her Pokémon's health, insisted Bulbasaur was able to continue battling.

Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl

InAll Dressed Up With Somewhere To Go!, Mr. Sukizo judged thePokémon Dress-Up Contest, an annualcosplaycompetition organized by fellow members of the Pokémon Fan Club. Together withOfficer Jenny andNurse Joy, he evaluated the costumes and impressions of the contestants' Pokémon. At the end of the competition, he awarded the winner,Brock, with aPokémon Egg that would eventually hatch into aHappiny.

InFighting Ire with Fire!, Mr. Sukizo was revealed to be a member of thePokémon Contest Grand Festival Planning Committee, along withRaoul Contesta andMarian.

During thePerformance Stage of theSinnoh Grand Festival inLast Call — First Round!, he and the Nurse Joy fromPastoria City were put in charge of evaluating the performances delivered byCoordinators in the Green Stage.

Character

Aside from presiding thePokémon Fan Club, Mr. Sukizo is a member of the panel of judges forPokémon Contests and related events, such as the variousGrand Festival tournaments and themultiregionalWallace Cup.

He is a man of few words and, whenever themaster of ceremonies asks for his input, he makes brief comments, usually ending his sentences by saying the subject is "Remarkable!" (Japanese:好きですねI like it!). Whether he is talking about the hosting city or about aPokémon's overall performance, he will not take long to express his opinion. Despite this, it is clear that he enjoys his work as aContest Judge as much asMr. Contesta andNurse Joy do.
