Work
The Moving Picture Company designed about 65 Pokémon forPOKÉMON Detective Pikachu.[3] Thirty of these designs, includingDetective Pikachu himself, were fully animated by the studio.[2] Artists would consult with animal experts and design skeletal and muscular systems to determine how the Pokémon would look and move in a realistic style.[3] About 25 Pokémon, includingSawk, were ultimately cut due to disagreements within the team about their appearance.[3] The company has said that thegiantTorterra scene was among the most challenging to animate.[2]
MPC Film has illustrated 15 cards for the Trading Card Game, all of which are associated with the movie. A full list of cards illustrated by it can be foundhere.
