Later, Miriam greetedPenny, who was called into the director's office. Clavell began questioning Penny about the state of the academy before he was hired as Director, but when she started crying, she was allowed to leave without answering. Unbeknownst to Miriam and Clavell, the "Penny" they met with was actuallyScarlet in disguise.
Later, the real Penny encountered Miriam,Saguaro, andDendra at the academy's entrance hall. Dendra tried getting Saguaro to try her sandwich made entirely of meat products despite Miriam's protests that it would result in stomach issues. Trivia
- All of Miriam's Pokémon may allude to specific types of medicine and healing: Hypno may allude tohypnotherapy and sleeping well, Pincurchin may allude toacupuncture and possiblyshock therapy, Sawsbuck and Meganium may allude toaromatherapy and medicinal herbs, Glalie may allude tocryotherapy and possibly cold compresses such as anice pack, Eelektross may allude to eitherdefibrillation orleeching, and Toxapex may allude to acupuncture once again, as well as the use oftetrodotoxin (a potent neurotoxin found in many marine species, including starfish) in medicine.
- Hypno'sUltra MoonPokédex entry mentions how the Pokémon is sometimes used in hospitals to assist doctors with patients that are unable to sleep at night, relating to Miriam's profession in the medical field as a nurse.
- With Sawsbuck and Meganium's possible relations to the idea of aromatherapy, there is a move by the same name,Aromatherapy, which cures the user, all Pokémon in the party, and all allies of any status conditions, relating back to the medical theme of Miriam's party. Fittingly, prior toGeneration IX, this move could be learned by both Sawsbuck and Meganium.
