History

Mew first appeared in a flashback inEnter Pikachu!, four years prior to the events ofPokémon - I Choose You!.Goh andChloe spotted it while attendingProfessor Oak's Summer Camp, where it was seen battling aNidoking. Mew soon ran off, leading Goh and Chloe to chase it. Mew saved a babyKangaskhan from a fall before leaving. After reporting this to Professor Oak, Goh became determined to make Mew his first capture.

InSettling the Scorbunny! andMind-Boggling Dynamax!, Mew was mentioned by Goh, where his expressed his desire to make Mew hisfirst partner Pokémon. After capturingScorbunny, Goh decided to make Mew's capture his ultimate goal.

Mew reappeared in the present day inDreams Are Made of These!, where itTransformed into aLugia and attackedTeam Rocket, who had capturedAsh's Pikachu, Goh's Raboot, and Chloe'sYamper, freeing the trapped Pokémon. Everyone thought it was Lugia, but once it left, Mew revealed itself.

Mew being found by the members of Project Mew

InAdvice to Goh!, Goh learnt ofProject Mew, a team tasked with searching for legendary Pokémon with the aim of searching for and locating Mew. Goh joined Project Mew inLeaping Toward the Dream! in the hope of achieving his goal of catching Mew.

InThe Mew from Here!, Goh along with the other members of Project Mew arrived onFaraway Island and began their search for Mew. Unbeknownst to them, Mew was following them. It Transformed into the Legendary PokémonGroudon andKyogre and attacked the members of Project Mew. It lead them to the center of Table Mountain and turned back into its base form, where it shared a vision about the creation of the world with them. After this, it challenged them to a battle. It playfully defeated a number of their Pokémon before charging a powerfulHyper Beam. Goh stood his ground against it and thanked Mew for giving him a goal to strive for, as it led him to where he is now. The expression of gratitude caught Mew off-guard, and it proceeded to stop its attack and heal the surrounding Pokémon. It then Teleported into Goh's outstretched hand before laughing and Teleporting away.

Personality and characteristics

Mew is a strong Pokémon, capable of holding its own in battle, as seen during the flashback inEnter Pikachu!, where it held off againstNidoking's attacks and fought back with the same moves. InIn the Palms of our Hands!, it was shown knocking out many Pokémon with ease and overpowering many attacks with its versatile moveset. It is able to Transform into more than one Pokémon at once.

Mew is also kind and helpful, as seen inEnter Pikachu!, where it saved a babyKangaskhan from a fall andDreams Are Made of These!, where it helped free the trapped Pokémon fromTeam Rocket's clutches.
