Trivia
- InFireRed and LeafGreen,Charmander's evolutionary line were capable of learning Metal Claw by leveling up. However, they are unable to do so in latergenerations, other than viabreeding. This may be to give players who choose Charmander as theirfirst partner an advantage overthe first Gym.
- Furthermore, inGeneration IX,Charmeleon andCharizard are unable to learn Metal Claw via TM, while Charmander can.
- Metal Claw is the only move with base PP of 35 not introduced inGeneration I.
