Mega Shards can be found by having Pokémon break clusters ofMega Crystals scattered aroundLumiose City orHyperspace wild zones.

In theMega Dimension DLC, they can also be exchanged at theMega Shard Exchange inVert Sector 7 forTMs,Feathers andGenesect'sDrives. 999 are required to getMagearna and its Mega Stone.
