AMega Ring (Japanese:メガリングMega Ring) is aKey Item introduced inGeneration VI. It is aKey Stone accessory that enablesMega Evolution.
Its counterpart inPokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire is theMega Bracelet.

History
Pokémon X and Y
At theTower of Mastery,Gurkinn offers a single Mega Ring to theplayer and their friends, but due to only having a single Mega Ring to give away, requests that they decide among themselves who should receive it. Of the group, only the player andSerena/Calem are interested in receiving it, so the two battle to decide who should receive it. Upon defeating Serena/Calem, the player must obtain theRumble Badge at theShalour Gym and then go to the top of theTower of Mastery to receive the ring fromKorrina.
After the player has defeated their rival inKiloude City once,Professor Sycamore will upgrade the player's Mega Ring at theAnistar Sundial by having the player touch the sundial. Once upgraded, the player can then find hiddenMega Stones aroundKalos from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A

AZ is rumored to have traveled toHoenn, where he researched the origins of Mega Evolution to satisfy his own curiosity, then taughtQuasartico Inc. how to make Mega Rings with his research. WhenAnge awakened withinPrism Tower, it started unleadingMega Power, causingwild Pokémon to undergoRogue Mega Evolution. To stop the tower, Quasartico planned to find the strongest Mega Evolution user by providing certain Trainers of theZ-A Royale from Rank G and above with Mega Rings in order for them to use Mega Evolution.
Non-player character appearances
- InPokémon X and Y, after the player has visited Kiloude City and participated in a battle at theBattle Maison, Calem/Serena will battle the player once per day at the northern part of the city, having obtained their own Mega Ring.
- InPokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire,CourtneyOR/MattAS use Mega Rings during theDelta Episode, although they are not seen on their artwork.
- InPokémon Sun, Moon,Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon,Sina andDexio use white Mega Rings, which they each wear around their left wrist, though only Dexio has the opportunity to use it outside theBattle Tree.
- InPokémon Legends: Z-A,Urbain/Taunie,Naveen, andLida each have a Mega Ring.

InMega Evolution Special II, it was revealed that he received it fromLysandre. After theTeam Flare crisis, Alain gave his Mega Ring to the authorities to be used as evidence and resolved to find himself a new Key Stone on his own.

InCurtain Up! Fight the Fights!, Alain was revealed to have obtained a new Mega Ring.

InPinsir Glares,Y was made a Mega Evolution successor by Gurkinn and given a Mega Ring outfitted with the Key Stone from Gurkinn's Mega Glove. With it, she can Mega Evolve herSolsol into Mega Absol.
