Geography

Team Magma's Hideout with the entrance sealed

This version of the Magma Hideout is located inside ofMt. Chimney, only accessible if theplayer has obtained theMagma Emblem onMt. Pyre. The entrance is located in the middle ofJagged Pass, and before the player obtains the Magma Emblem, it is guarded by a singleTeam Magma Grunt, who will battle the player once and not leave his post. It is whereGroudon is awakened by the power of theBlue Orb just before the player battlesMaxie.

This Magma Hideout is notably different than the one inLilycove City. It is much more rudimentary in nature and design, appearing to be moreso a series of interconnected tunnels dug solely for the purpose of locating and awakening Groudon at the heart of the volcano instead of being a fully established base as seen in Lilycove City, with one room containing drilling equipment used for digging the base. The deeper floors of the hideout also have multiple pools of lava. Also, unlike the Lilycove City base, nowarp panels are present here, andwild Pokémon can be found around it.
