The Lumiose Museum appeared inMagearna Moves, where it was targeted for theft and vandalism by an individual who appeared to beEssentia. Surveillance camera footage showed the culprit next to theMythical PokémonMagearna, making them seem like accomplices. However, whenTrevor,Cassius, andGurkinn's students tried to catch Magearna, Trevor realized it was innocent and helped it to stop the culprit, which turned out to be a robot thatXerosic had built and abandoned, and had now reactivated on its own. It also turned out that Magearna had only come to the museum to see a painting featuring its creator, which it was allowed to continue to do.

Trivia

  • InPokémon X and Y, the paintingA Sketch of a Windmill on the top floor is likely a reference toLeonardo da Vinci. The audio guide describes the painting's artist as a polymath, and the painting itself is similar in appearance to many of Leonardo da Vinci's red chalk drawings.
  • In Pokémon X and Y, anEspurr standing in front ofA Man and Mew on the third floor responds with "De-gahh! ♪" when interacted with. This could be a reference to French ImpressionistEdgar Degas, the famous sculptor and painter.

  • In Pokémon X and Y, theAce Trainer who gives theplayerTM82 mentions that his partner learned the move in theVillage of Dragons.

  • TheLaverre City painting portrays an inaccurate depiction of the clock behindLaverre City'sGym, with 12 hours instead of 13.
  • Some of the Lumiose Museum paintings inPokémon Legends: Z-A appear to reference real-world art by European artists:
  • The Parfum Palace portrait in Pokémon Legends: Z-A was originally put up inParfum Palace in Pokémon X and Y. In those games, if the player characterCalem/Serena inspects the portrait after defeating theChampion, they would note that the portrait reminded them ofAZ.
  • Pokémon Legends: Z-A introduces three new artworks depicting power plants in the Kalos region. The description for one of the old Pokémon X and Y artworks was changed, and another artwork was mirrored from the Pokémon X and Y version.
