TheLock Capsule (Japanese:ロックカプセルLock Capsule) is anunobtainableKey Item that was first included in the game data ofPokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver. It is not legitimately available in any game. The Lock Capsule's menu sprite differs between Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver andPokémon Black and White.
In Pokémon Black and White, it would have been the only way to obtainTM95 (Snarl), but was never released. InPokémon Black 2 and White 2, TM95 can be obtained in regular gameplay.

In Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, it has no use. If received viaMystery Gift, the menu option "VIEW LOCK CAPSULE CARD" will appear in the Mystery Gift menu, displaying "The Lock Capsule is held in the strictest safekeeping." as Wonder Card text. It can then be transferred to Pokémon Black and White by using theRelocator, which will change the Wonder Card text to "The Lock Capsule was delivered safely!".
In Pokémon Black and White, it can be opened by Mr. Lock inCastelia City, allowing theplayer to retrieve the exclusive TM95 (Snarl) from inside it.

- The Lock Capsule also contains a letter read by Mr. Lock upon opening it: "I entrust theTechnical Machine in the Lock Capsule to a trustworthyTrainer in theUnovaregion. Don't allow it to fall into the hands of villains likeTeam Rocket."
