Team Rocket's disguises, commonly used inPokémon the Series: Sun & Moon

Jessie,James, andMeowth, like otherTeam Rocket members, often use a variety of disguises in order to carry out their schemes. The obvious and bizarre costumes serve as arunning gag inPokémon the Series, whereAsh andhis friends usually fail to recognizeTeam Rocket until it is too late.

Their outfits included black shoes, short skirts, and James wearing a blonde wig that somewhat resembles his regular hairdo, and Jessie an orange one similar to her hairstyle, making this the first time James dresses like a woman in the series.
Jessie and James later posed as waiters on theSt. Anne alongside otherTeam Rocket Grunts to help supportGiovanni's plan to steal all of the Pokémon belonging to theTrainers aboard the ship.
Beauty and the BeachJessie and James both donned swimsuits to enter theBeach Beauty and Pokémon Costume Contest, and James wore an inflatable bodysuit giving him large breasts to give him a more feminine appearance. James's disguise is notable for causing the initialban of this episode inthe United States.
Abra and the Psychic ShowdownJessie and James wore hula girls outfits complete withlei necklaces, green grass skirts, and wigs. They greeted Ash and his friends as they enteredSaffron City, and whisked them away to a building to collect their prize for being the millionth visitor to the city.
Pokémon Scent-SationJessie and James disguised themselves as "Ashley's" parents, with Jessie wearing a pink kimono robe and glasses and her hair tied up in a bun on top, and James wearing a bald cap, a fake nose and glasses with Meowth hidden under his shirt to simulate a belly
Pokémon Fashion FlashJessie and James disguised themselves as fashion artists. Jessie wore a black top and a red slit skirt, while James wears a long black coat and red slacks. Both also wear glasses. Meowth simply wears a blue jacket with a yellow undershirt, serving as the cashier for Salon Roquét.

Jessie and James reused these outfits inAll Things Bright and Beautifly! andWin, Lose or Drew!. Jessie would again reuse this outfit for the Lilycove Pokémon Contest inPokéblock, Stock and Berry andLessons in Lilycove.

Jessie and Jamescross-dressed in a fashion similar to that of the mangaThe Rose of Versailles. They reused these outfits inIn the Pink andI Feel Skitty!. Also, inThe Bicker the Better, theYoung CoupleOscar and Andi wear the same outfits.

Holy Matrimony!Jessie and Meowth wore black "invisible" costumes and pushed James into hisparents' estate as Jessie tried to imitate James's voice to collect the will. James's parents were not fooled, but played along as long as they saw fit.

Meowth wore the "invisible" costume again inReady, Willing, and Sableye. The "invisible" costumes were reused by all three in the two-part Ash versusPaul battle arc,Pedal to the Meddle andEvolving Strategies.

Who Gets to Keep Togepi?Jessie and James posed as female Egg-sellers with old-fashioned dresses, bonnets, and baskets full of fakePokémon Eggs in an attempt to steal theTogepi Egg.
The Purr-fect HeroJessie and James performed a fake magic act for the schoolchildren, with Jessie wearing a magician's tuxedo, top hat, and glasses, and James wearing a pink dress and disguised as the lovely assistant.
The Case of the K-9 CaperJessie and James disguised themselves asOfficer Jenny while using a voice-changing megaphone to imitate other characters, such Ash and Misty.

The trio reused these outfits inLosing Its Lustrous! andDouble Team Turnover!.

Pokémon PaparazziJessie and James posed as an elderly couple, complete with gray wigs and old-fashioned clothes. Jessie wore glasses and James had a fake mustache.

Jessie reused the disguise inBeauty is Skin Deep.

The Ultimate TestJessie and James entered thePokémon League test in disguise. Jessie wore a gray woman's business outfit, black skirt, glasses with her hair in braids and black Mary Jane shoes, while James also had glasses, along with a blue suit. This was also one of the few times where one of the duo didn't recognize the other in disguise, James didn't recognize Jessie until after she took off her glasses.
The Misty MermaidThe trio woreSwan Lake-inspired costumes and performed in theCerulean Gym's Underwater Ballet show. Jessie dressed as a prince, while James was in a pink tutu and Meowth had a swan float ring around his waist.

James's ballet outfit reappeared inFlower Power.

Clefairy TalesJessie and James posed as aliens, complete with their own UFO, while kidnapping Pikachu.
Showdown at the Poké-CoralJessie and James disguised themselves as a news crew for PNN, Pokémon News Network, and they wanted to interview Ash in a segment calledPokémon Masters of Tomorrow. This is the first time that they tricked someone onscreen who wasn't Ash and his friends. Instead, they tricked Delia into telling them where Ash was.
Mewtwo Strikes BackJessie and James posed asVikings, with Meowth as the boat'sfigurehead. In their latest ploy, they offer Ash and his friends a trip fromOld Shore Wharf toNew Island, and later their boat is overturned by a large wave.
To Master the Onixpected!The trio posed as old hermits and attempted to steal meatball kebabs from a rest stop nearMt. Hideaway.

They reappeared in these outfits inThe Poké Spokesman.

Bad To The BoneJessie wore this outfit as she made her own way to compete in theIndigo League withOtoshi's stolenBadges. She also attempted to steal another Trainer's Badges, but James and Meowth intervened.

She used this outfit again inThe Grass Route, along with James in a similar male version of the outfit, to compete in theGrass Tournament. Their costumes were colored green.

Jessie appeared in a similar outfit inOutrageous Fortunes, this time as a fortune teller, when she connedDelaney into handing over his prizedPoliwrath. Jessie would wear this outfit again inA Togepi Mirage!, though it was colored purple this time.

All Fired Up!Jessie and James disguised themselves as League Officials in ancient Greek maidens' costumes. They were able to take theMoltres Flame from the torchbearer during theIndigo League Opening Ceremony.
Fire and IceJessie was disguised in aNurse Joy costume complete with a mask and James disguised himself as an ordinary nurse, with a surgical mask covering his mouth and glasses, at a fake Pokémon Center that they set up. Surprisingly, Jessie's Nurse Joy disguise was an imitation of the real Nurse Joy's appearance where the lips did not move, which Brock took notice of.
A Friend in DeedJessie and James posed as physical examiners for the Pokémon League, where they collected Pokémon from theIndigo League competitors.

InManectric Charge, the duo used these costumes again to lure the group into a fake carnival inMauville City, but this time, they were based on Gengar and Tauros's typical color schemes.

Stage Fight!Jessie, James, and Meowth disguised themselves as pirates.

Meowth Rules!Jessie and James disguised themselves as villagers ofGolden Island to blend in with the crowd during their attempt to reunite with Meowth.

The Stun Spore DetourJames and Meowth donned farmer costumes while they searched forSalveyo Weed.

The Bug Stops HereAfter learning that theBug-Catching Contest was restricted to people under age 16, Jessie, James, and Meowth attempted to make themselves appear younger by dressing in student-style clothes, with Meowth as an infant.
Jessie wore aVenomoth costume as a ploy to attractBug Pokémon to her, while James and Meowth were armed with nets.
Jessie and James appeared in kimonos, with Jessie holding a goldfish in a bag while James had sweet treats in his hands.

InVanity Affair, the trio wore these outfits while working at a waterfront café. Later they, Ash, and his friends were invited ontoDrake's ship. Their café apparel proved to be the perfect disguise as the trio kidnapped Pikachu with ease.

Fly Me to the MoonThe trio posed as meteorologists, and at Meowth's request, they assisted Orville, aPidgey, in his attempt to fly to the Moon.
The Mystery is HistoryJessie and James disguised themselves in standard black Team Rocket uniforms in order to sneak into an underwater Rocket lab and take credit forProfessor Namba's plan. Later, inA Promise is a Promise, Jessie and James once again donned the black Rocket uniforms in a second attempt to steal the capturedLugia.

Why? Wynaut!Team Rocket disguises themselves as reporters.
Hatch Me if You CanJessie and James disguised themselves as Nurse Joy and a generic doctor, respectively, claiming to be from theNew Bark Town Pokémon Center, with Meowth hiding in Jessie's dress to act as Nurse Joy's breasts. The two tries to steal theLarvitar that just hatched after they got rid of the real Nurse Joy, but Brock was able to tell Jessie was an impostor due to the mask's mouth not moving, among other details.
Entei at Your Own RiskTeam Rocket posed as food taste test researchers and managed to lure Ash and his Pokémon into their truck before taking off. They reused the disguises fromShocks and Bonds toAt the End of the Fray.

Team Rocket wore similar outfits inGathering the Gang of Four!, though the outfits also featured white undershirts. InTop-Down Training!, and fromTag! We're It...! toSmells Like Team Spirit!, the trio wears these outfits, but with blue shirts this time.

Pop Goes the Sneasel!Meowth dressed up as a Sneasel to convince awildSneasel to join the trio. After their smoke-bomb went off, Team Rocket only grabbed Meowth by mistake.Harrison went on tobattle andcatch theSneasel.

Meowth reappeared as a Sneasel inThe Keystone Pops!.

A Claim to Flame!Jessie, James, and Meowth wore the same waitress, waiter, and cook outfits inBrave the Wave.
Jessie and James posed as Silver League officials in an attempt to steal Pikachu.

A Poké-BLOCK Party!Jessie and James enteredMauville City'sTrick House in outfits resembling school uniforms.

InMean with Envy andPacifidlog Jam, Jessie competed in thePacifidlog Town Contest as "The Jester", using this disguise paired with dark sunglasses.

A Double DilemmaTeam Rocket dressed up asPetalburg CityGym LeaderNorman and his family. Jessie disguised herself asCaroline, James as Norman, Meowth as May, and Wobbuffet as Max. The disguises fooled much ofNorth Petalburg's citizens, but the real May and Max eventually revealed the trio's disguises.

James reused the Norman disguise inHi Ho Silver Wind!.

Hokey Poké Balls!The trio posed as a repair crew and rigged the localPokémon Center's Poké Ball Transporter machine to transfer thePoké Balls directly to them, with theTrainers receiving empty ones in return.
That's Just SwellowWhile James competed in theCrossgate PokéRinger competition, Jessie set up a massage stall with Meowth disguised as a satisfiedWingull in an attempt to steal Trainers' Pokémon.
Clamperl of WisdomJessie and James posed as cleaners atIsaiah's lab to cover the fact that they stole a rare blueClamperl pearl.

These disguises reappeared inThe Ribbon Cup Caper andCurbing the Crimson Tide!

Training WrecksJessie and James posed as ship captains during their plan to ambush Ash and his friends on their journey fromMuscle Island toMossdeep City.
Solid as a SolrockJessie and James performed an operatic version of theirmotto in theMossdeep Gym, complete with costumes.
Claydol Big and TallTeam Rocket joins forces with Ash, his friends, andSigourney to quell a rampaginggiantClaydol. James and Ash dressed as eggplants to attract Claydol, butSigourney soon realized that Claydol dislikes the vegetable. Following what the legend said of quelling the Claydol, the girls and Meowth dressed up as maidens, but it was Wobbuffet's maid outfit that attracts Claydol's attention.

Wobbuffet wore this outfit again inTanks for the Memories! while working as a maid for Team Rocket's pop-up café.

Once in a MawileTeam Rocket interruptedSamantha's ribbon dance with their own performance.
Absol-Ute DisasterThe trio posed asAbsol hunters in a village onIzabe Island.
Do I Hear a Ralts?James disguised himself in a grayish brown suit with a matching hat, white gloves, a mustache, and glasses, calling himself Sir Lord James Jamison, Esquire. Jessie and Meowth were disguised as aGardevoir and aKirlia, respectively. James would wear the same disguise inA Chip off the Old Brock but with a different mustache.

Meowth's Kirlia costume reappeared during the Pacifidlog Contest Battle Rounds inPacifidlog Jam.

This is the first time their ruse was blown by the Pokédex. It identified Meowth by its species rather than as a Kirlia. Later on,a similar incident happened, albeit with Meowth disguised as a Shiftry instead of a Kirlia.

The Great Eight Fate!Eight Ain't EnoughIn their money-making scheme, James posed as theSootopolis CityGym LeaderJuan. However, as usual, their scam gets busted and they don't succeed in making any money.
Berry, Berry InterestingJessie and James posed as professionalPokéblock tasters while Meowth and Wobbuffet stole the Pokémon Center's Pokéblock supply.
The Ribbon Cup CaperJessie and James disguised themselves as waiting staff aboard theS.S. St. Flower in the hopes of stealing the preciousRibbon Cup.
Deceit and AssistHaving stolen hisContest Pass andRibbons, Jessie disguised herself asAnthony in an attempt to enter theHoenn Grand Festival. The real Anthony and hisSwalot later foiled her ploy as she was about to walk onto the stage.
Like a Meowth to a FlameJessie and James disguised themselves as Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy, respectively, while attempting to steal theMoltres Flame where a crowd of real Jennies and Joys are appearing.
