Trivia

  • Liepard is the only Pokémon with a base stat total of 446.
  • Liepard shares its category withGalarianArticuno. They are both known as the Cruel Pokémon.

Origin

Liepard has traits of housecats andleopards. It could also draw inspiration from spotted wildcats like theleopard cat, ocelot, andserval. It may also be based on aSavannah cat, a hybrid between a domestic cat and a serval. It also slightly resembles ablack leopard, because of its dark coloration and the fact that it has spots which can be seen if examined closely. Its fur pattern around its eyes, behavior, and feline influence suggests that it may also be based on a female thief, commonly known as acat burglar.

Name origin

Liepard may be a combination oflie andleopard.

Lepardas may be a combination ofleopard and λεόπαρδοςleopardós (Ancient Greek for leopard) orleopardus (Latin for leopard).
