Effect

In battle

Levitate renders the Pokémon with this Ability immune to damagingGround-type moves (exceptThousand Arrows). It also makes itungrounded, therefore unaffected by the effects ofArena Trap,Spikes,Toxic Spikes,Sticky Web,Rototiller, andterrain. Additionally,Poison-type Pokémon with Levitate do not remove Toxic Spikes upon switching in.

These immunities are lost duringGravity or if the Pokémon with Levitate is holding anIron Ball, is under the effects ofIngrain, or has been hit bySmack Down orThousand Arrows.

Pokémon with this Ability are eligible to enterSky Battles, exceptGengar because its model lands on the ground when entering the battle.
