Jimmy (Japanese:ジミーJimmy) is a recurring character who first appeared inJudgment Day!.
History
Pokémon the Series: Ruby and Sapphire
Jimmy considers himself a poor Trainer, having not won a single battle. He often felt he had bad luck, even though he actually had the opposite. Starting out with aSquirtle, he set out on ajourney of his own. He soon added anIvysaur to histeam after he accidentally dropped a sandwich. They then encountered aShinyMagikarp that fell out of Jimmy's shirt. Jimmytraded the Magikarp to a passerby without realizing its rarity and obtained aCharmeleon in return.
Afterwards, Jimmy went toCerulean City and helpedDaisy clean theCerulean Gym, a task that earned him aCascade Badge without having to battle for it. Sometime later, while Jimmy and his Pokémon were sleeping in a small fishing boat, the rope that was tying the boat to theLilycove City dock became undone, and the boat floated away into the ocean. By accident, they found themselves onBomba Island, and he decided to enroll in the island's Pokémon Battle Judge Training Institute.
Despite his efforts, Jimmy struggled to become areferee under ProfessorSerena. During a mock battle betweenAsh andBrock, Jimmy acted as the referee, though he proved to be particularly indecisive when it came to making rulings.
While mulling over Serena's advice that night,Team Rocket arrived with their mecha and stole Jimmy's Pokémon. He chased them and grabbed onto the mecha, though the trio continued to swat him away. Suddenly, his Wartortle evolved intoBlastoise, breaking itself free of its containment capsule in the process before blasting Team Rocket off. He then decided to continue his original goal of becoming a Trainer and to return to Lilycove City. The next day, he waved farewell to Ash and his friends when they left the island.

Jimmy appeared again inBattling as Hard as Stone!, watchingSteven and Ash'sMasters Eight Tournament battle ontelevision.

Blastoise was Jimmy'sfirst partner Pokémon, who he obtained as aSquirtle. When Jimmy was in the Cerulean Gym, Wartortle, along with Ivysaur and Charmeleon, helped Jimmy clean up the Gym, which earned him theCascade Badge. While onBomba Island, it helped Jimmy in his jobs at the Pokémon Battle Judges Training Institute.
InJudgment Day!, Wartortle was caught byTeam Rocket and tried breaking itself free from the mecha's prison Poké Ball-shaped capsules. When Jimmy held onto the mecha to rescue Wartortle, Team Rocket swatted Jimmy off of it and Wartortle, seeing Jimmy being beaten up by them, evolved into Blastoise. Due to its massive size, it broke itself free. With its newfound power, Blastoise easily defeated Team Rocket and sent them blasting off.
Blastoise's only known move isHydro Pump.

Jimmy first encounteredIvysaur in a forest after it ate the only snack that Jimmy and his Wartortle had left. Ivysaur felt bad and decided to aid them in searching for food, eventually joining Jimmy's team. When Jimmy was in the Cerulean Gym, Ivysaur helped Jimmy clean up the Gym, which earned him theCascade Badge.
InJudgment Day!, Ivysaur was first seen carrying a box onBomba Island and helped Jimmy in his works at the Pokémon Battle Judges School. One night, whenTeam Rocket arrived with their mecha, they took Ivysaur and placed it inside a prison shaped as a Poké Ball. It was freed later on by Jimmy's newly evolvedBlastoise and finished Team Rocket off.
Ivysaur's known moves areVine Whip andRazor Leaf.

Charmeleon is one of the three Pokémon that is owned by Jimmy. Jimmy obtained Charmeleon when he accepted it from a trade with a passerby for aShinyMagikarp that he accidentally possessed. When Jimmy was in the Cerulean Gym, Charmeleon helped Jimmy clean up the Gym, which earned him theCascade Badge. While onBomba Island, it helped Jimmy with his jobs at the Pokémon Battle Judges School.
InJudgment Day!,Team Rocket arrived with their mecha and imprisoned Jimmy's Pokémon, including Charmeleon, with Poké Ball-shaped capsules. It was freed later on by Jimmy's newly evolvedBlastoise and it helped finish Team Rocket off.
Charmeleon's only known move isFlamethrower.
