Jack Pollockson (Japanese:キース・バスキアKeith Basquiat) is acharacter of the day who appeared inThe Art of Pokémon. He also appeared inAsh & Pikachu, where he went under the nameKys Vaskia.

In animation

Pollockson is a world-renowned abstractartist who resides inWhitestone. He owns threeSmeargle, which are the ones that actually paint his art. He had his Smeargle paint a wall in Whitestone. However, the town's residents disagreed with his views on what art is and claimed that he was vandalizing the town. In rebuttal, Pollockson claimed that the Smeargle were just expressing themselves, but nevertheless, he was disappointed with their latest creations.

He is a private man, who has a distaste for journalism's take on art, since he believes that if art is to be truly experienced, it must be seen in person. However, he invitedAsh andhis friends to his studio and mansion to show them some of his latest pieces. He revealed to the group that he decided to become an artist 50 years ago after seeing a sunrise turn the landscape into thousands of colors.

After saving his Smeargle fromTeam Rocket, he witnessed an equally amazing sunrise and decided to paint it. His Pokémon captured the various hues on another Whitestone building, with the final result amazing the previously disgruntled locals. Even though rain soon washed away the piece, Pollockson was not disappointed by the outcome.

Jack has threeSmeargle, with two of the Smeargle having different colored tails. It has been mentioned that a Smeargle's tail color changes depending upon its mood. They were "vandalizing" walls inWhitestone, which the town's residents hated but Jack thought was art.Team Rocket watched this and decided to steal the Smeargle. Later, the Smeargle got angry because of the criticism and painted on everything, making Whitestone's residents even madder. Suddenly, Team Rocket showed up and stole the three Smeargle, butAsh andhis friends found them. After blasting of Team Rocket, the Smeargle ran away, but the next dayAsh andhis friends found out that the Smeargle were cleaning Whitestone instead of painting all over it, making the residents forgive them.
