Indi (Japanese:インディIndi) is a recurring antagonist who first appeared inOrla, Grounded. He is a member of theExplorers and is commonly seen atRubina's side.
History

Indi debuted inOrla, Grounded, alongsideRubina. During an argument betweenKarna and a pair ofExceed subordinates, they intervened in order to convince Karna to deliver theStrong Sphere parts. However, they soon found outLiko andRoy of theRising Volt Tacklers being there and immediately engaged in battle against them,Dot, andUlt, using their Strong Spheres to power up theirPaldeanTauros. The battle properly started in thenext episode, where they ended up being defeated after their opponents discovered the pattern behind the Tauros's attacks. After retreating, they reported back toSpinel.
InThe Dusk Ball That Wouldn't Open, Indi and Rubina spottedRayu trying to trade aDusk Ball housing a powerful Pokémon for a Strong Sphere. Indi was seemingly about to accept the offer, only for Ult to show up, declaring himself as the Dusk Ball's owner. Recognizing him as a Rising Volt Tackler, they put away the Dusk Ball and prepared for battle, powering up theirDarmanitan with their Strong Spheres. They managed to overpower Ult in numbers and raw strength, but Ult managed to still win once hisDragonite emerged from the Dusk Ball, reacting with its Trainer's willingness to fight for others, forcing Rubina and Indi to retreat. In thenext episode, Indi and Rubina fought against Ult and Roy, this time with each other's Darmanitan in theirZen Mode. Due to the assistance of aRabsca army, they managed to keep the upper hand for the majority of the battle, only to lose once more as Ult's Dragonite reappeared andMega Evolved alongsideRoy's Lucario.
InTinkatuff's Hammer Wasn't Made in a Year!, Indi and Rubina appeared at the entrance of the Exceed distribution center as soon as Liko, Roy, and Ult arrived at the location. In thenext episode, Indi with Rubina and three other grunts used a new version of Strong Spheres called Super Strong Spheres on five of the Six Heroes to battle them. In thefollowing episode, Indi and Rubina with their group were forced to retreat when the Super Strong Spheres wears off on five of the Six Heroes, even though they knocked out all of their andAmethio's withCoral andSidian's help.
InHZ120, Indi managed to intercept an invasion of Dot andPenny at the Exceed Museum along withRubina andChalce. After a battle against the two Trainers' Pokémon, Chalce managed to separate Dot from her friend and leave the rest to him and Rubina. However, Penny and herSylveon andJolteon defeated Indi'sDrapion and Rubina'sScolipede before Dot and Penny escaped with the Laquium data thanks to her newly-evolvedGholdengo.
InHZ124, Indi and Rubina battled againstAmethio andLiko with their Salamence using Strong Sphere on them, however, after Liko'sCharcadet evolved intoArmarouge and learnedArmor Cannon, their Salamence were defeated.
InHZ125, Indi used aSuper Strong Sphere onLucius's Lapras, pitting her againstAmethio and theWhite Zygarde. After it was defeated, Indi used another Super Strong Sphere on it underSpinel's orders, but the Explorers were thwarted through the combined efforts of the White Zygarde andPagogo.
Character
Indi has a stoic personality and is quite cold and calculating. Due to their use ofStrong Spheres, both he andRubina battle without issuing actual instructions to their Pokémon, instead making them rely on their natural instincts, which makes battling against them hard to predict at times. As seen inFriends as Two, Me and You, he is quite selective with the colors of the Pokémon he uses and is willing to swap Pokémon if it better fits his color scheme.
InHZ124, he is shown to be arrogant and ignorant to the condition of his Pokémon as he was ignorant about the state of hisSalamence saying that the Strong Sphere guarantees victory even after being proven wrong multiple times. Despite his cold and stoic personality, Indi is loyal toSpinel and follows his orders without question.
