Heavy Slam (Japanese:ヘビーボンバーHeavy Bomber) is a damage-dealingSteel-typemove introduced inGeneration V. It wasTR79 inPokémon Sword and Shield, and isTM121 inPokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Effect
Generations V and VI
Heavy Slam deals damage. Itspower depends on theweight of both the user and the target; the lighter the target is in comparison to the user, the greater the power:
| Target's relative weight | Power |
|---|---|
| More than 50% | 40 |
| 33.35% - 50% | 60 |
| 25.01% - 33.34% | 80 |
| 20.01% - 25% | 100 |
| 20% or less | 120 |
Generation VII onwards
If the target has usedMinimize, Heavy Slam now deals double its regular damage and bypassesaccuracy checks to always hit, unless the target is in thesemi-invulnerable turn of a move such asDig orFly.
Heavy Slam will fail against aDynamax target.
Generation IX
Pokémon Legends: Z-A
Heavy Slam behaves similarly toHeat Crash,Fly andBounce, causing the user to leap high up into the air (briefly avoiding moves that pass through their position), before crashing back down on the target.
If used against theHyperrogue Ange Floette flowers, Heavy Slam will always have a base power of 120.
