Heat Crash (Japanese:ヒートスタンプHeat Stamp) is a damage-dealingFire-typemove introduced inGeneration V. Prior toGeneration VIII, it was thesignature move ofTepig'sevolutionary line. It wasTR88 inPokémon Sword and Shield, and isTM189 inPokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Effect

Generation V

Heat Crash deals damage. Itspower depends on theweight of both the user and the target; the greater the difference between the user's weight and the target's weight, the greater the power:

Target's relative weightPower
More than 50%40
33.35% - 50%60
25.01% - 33.34%80
20.01% - 25%100
20% or less120

Generation VI onwards

If the target has usedMinimize, Heat Crash now deals double its regular damage and bypassesaccuracy checks to always hit, unless the target is in thesemi-invulnerable turn of a move such asDig orFly.

Heat Crash will fail against aDynamaxed target.

Generation VIII

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Heat Crash cannot be selected in a battle.

Generation IX

Pokémon Legends: Z-A

Heat Crash behaves similarly toHeavy Slam,Dragon Rush,Fly andBounce, causing the user to leap high up into the air (briefly avoiding moves that pass through their position), before crashing back down on the target.

If used against theHyperrogue Ange Floette flowers, Heavy Slam will always have a base power of 120.
