Trivia
- Headlong Rush is tied withPrecipice Blades for the highestbase power of allGround-type moves, excludingZ-Moves,Max Moves, andG-Max Moves.
- In Japanese,ぶちかましBuchikamashi (Headlong Rush) is a sumo term which refers to the frontal collision of the two sumo wrestlers right at the beginning of a match.
- The inspiration for the move'sGroundtype is likely a play with the words 武bu (bravery, courage), ちchi (ground), ちかchika (underground) and 噛ましkamashi (blow, hit).
- This is also the likely reason why this move is considered apunching move, and why it can be learned byHariyama.
- InSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate,Charizard's forward smash is also known as Headlong Rush, though Charizard cannot learn the move in core games. This game was released prior to Headlong Rush's introduction as a move in thecore series.
