Harvest (Japanese:しゅうかくHarvest) is anAbility introduced inGeneration V. It is exclusively aHidden Ability.

Effect

In battle

If the Pokémon has used aBerry, there is a 50% chance of it being restored at the end of each turn. The held Berry is remembered even if it is not restored or if the Pokémon has switched out. Harvest will always activate inharsh sunlight.

Harvest can recover Berries consumed byFling andNatural Gift; however, Harvest can neither recover Berries transferred to another Pokémon, Berries destroyed byIncinerate, Berries knocked off withKnock Off, or Berries eaten withBug Bite orPluck nor restore a Berry if it is collected by a Pokémon withPickup. If more than one Pokémon hasPickup or Harvest, the faster Pokémon will restore an item first.

A single Pokémon's Harvest will not activate more than once per turn. If the held Berry is consumed immediately after it is restored, Harvest will not be able to restore it again until the next turn.

Harvest can recover Berries consumed that were originally another Pokémon's, but transferred to the Pokémon with Harvest. However, a Pokémon may only have one consumed item (including non-Berries) at a time; if a Pokémon consumes a Berry, obtains another item and consumes it, the original consumed Berry cannot be restored, even if the second item is restored and swapped away. If the Pokémon with Harvest obtains an item after consuming a Berry, Harvest can still restore the old Berry as long as the Pokémon has no held item and did not consume any other items (including non-Berries) since consuming the old Berry. Berries held by the target ofBug Bite orPluck do not count as the user's last consumed item, and cannot be restored by the user's Harvest.

Outside of battle

Generation VIII

InPokémon Sword and Shield, if a Pokémon with Harvest is in the first place in theparty (even iffainted), there is a 51% chance the game will force an encounter with aGrass-type Pokémon, if one is possible. InPokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, the chance is 50%.

Generation IX

InPokémon Scarlet and Violet, this Ability has no effect outside of battle, with its former field function effectively being replaced byMeal Powers.
