Pokémon Journeys: The Series

Hammerlocke was one of the main settings of the Sword and Shield arc, first appearing inSword and Shield, Slumbering Weald!, as a burst ofGalar particles escaped from theEnergy Plant. The same happened again in thefollowing episode, promptingLeon to investigateRose's actions. InSword and Shield: "From Here to Eternatus!",Eternatus escaped from the Energy Plant and started theDarkest Day. While Leon engaged Eternatus above theHammerlocke Stadium andAsh battled Rose at the Stadium battlefield,Sonia andGoh arrived in the city and busted through the barrier ofMacro Cosmos employees guarding the Stadium entrance. As Goh entered the Stadium and started battlingOleana, Sonia was joined byRaihan, who easily defeated the Macro Cosmos employees, before heading off to deal with rampagingDynamax Pokémon.

InSword and Shield... The Legends Awaken!, after defeating Rose and Oleana respectively, Ash and Goh rushed to thesummit of Hammerlocke Stadium just in time to see Leon being defeated by Eternatus. Using theRusted Sword andRusted Shield Goh had found at theSlumbering Weald, they summonedZacian andZamazenta to their aid and succeeded in defeating andcatching Eternatus, ending the Darkest Day.

InCatching the Aura of Fate!, Raihan was seen in Hammerlocke, preparing for his upcoming World Coronation Series match with Ash. The match occurred in thefollowing episode, taking place at the Hammerlocke Stadium. After a challenging battle, Ash was able to best Raihan in the season's last entrance battle, granting him a place in the Masters Eight.

InParing Pokémon While Parrying!, Eternatus, while being observed byProfessor Magnolia at the Energy Plant, reacted to the intense energy created by Ash and Leon'sMasters Eight Tournament battle atWyndon Stadium and broke out of its containment before flying toWyndon.

Sword & Shield arc

Hammerlocke first appeared inGulp!! Gulp Pokémon, whereRaihan was seen examining the progress of the remainingGym Challengers.

InThump!! The Gazing Sage, whenHenry arrived at the Hammerlocke entrance, Raihan challenged him to a battle and beat him. He explained that due to him constantly losing againstLeon, he was in need of material of himself being victorious in battle to post in the social media. Afterwards, he took Henry to the vault, where they foundSonia being attacked by awildOranguru. When Sonia explained that it had started attacking her after she had accidentally stepped on its fan, Henry figured out that it was mad because the fur on its fan had gotten messed up. After he had tidied up the fan with a brush, Oranguru calmed down and even asked to becaught by Henry, which he agreed to.Afterwards, they entered the vault and examined the four tapestries present there. After rejoining withCasey and meetingOpal, Henry traveled toStow-on-Side with them.

InRising!! Opal of Ballonlea,Bede was in Hammerlocke afterChairman Rose had revoked his Gym Challenger status, receiving a letter sent for him by Opal just as a big quake shook the city. InStealth!! Infiltrate the Energy Plant, Raihan managed to convince Leon into focusing his attention on protecting the civilians while he investigated what had happened, sneaking into theEnergy Plant. He was soon found out by Chairman Rose, who explained the quake away as a failed experiment, although Raihan didn't buy it.

After Sonia had been attacked onRoute 7, Leon took her and thepilot of herFlying Taxi to a hospital in Hammerlocke inUnbelievable!! The Shocking Truth. Once she could talk again, Sonia told Leon how she had overheard Chairman Rose talking withSordward andShielbert about their plans to bring about theDarkest Day.

InRumble!! The Horrific Darkest Day, following Chairman Rose starting the Darkest Day, a pair ofInterviewers started a live broadcast from Hammerlocke to cover the event, soon noticingEternatus flying down from the sky. They were then approached by Sordward and Shielbert, who revealed Eternatus's identity to them and presented themselves as descendants of the heroes who had once defeated it in the ancient past. Later, most of the GalarGym Leaders, Henry, Casey, Leon, Sonia,Hop,Marnie, and Bede pursued them to the Energy Plant, where they encountered Chairman Rose, who let them observe a live feed of Sordward and Shielbert battling Eternatus on thetower summit. When the two brothers failed to defeat Eternatus, Rose challenged it himself, but was defeated as well, leaving it to the Gym Leaders and their allies to battle theGigantic Pokémon. During the battle, it transformed into itsEternamax form.

The Gym Leaders were eventually defeated by Eternatus, following whichZacian andZamazenta joined the battle. InOh My!! The Disappearance of Henry, when thelegendary heroes attacked Eternatus, the threeLegendary Pokémon, along with Henry and theRusted Sword andShield, disappeared in a brilliant flash of light. While the people who had been injured the worst during the battle were being treated at the Hammerlocke hospital, Casey reviewed theDrone Rotom footage of the battle, noticing that Henry and the artifacts had actually disappeared moments before Eternatus, which led her to figuring out that he was likelyteleported away by an unseen Pokémon.

InBom Bom!! Kubfu and Intense Training, the antidote for Eternatus's poison was shared amongst the people recovering in Hammerlocke, though its side effect caused everyone's hair to grow to drastic proportions.

InShing!! Final Form, Eternatus was revealed to have reappeared at Hammerlocke, with a group ofGigantamax Pokémon having gathered around the stadium to protect it. A group of Sordward and Shielbert's supporters tried to demand the two's release from prison, but Oleana refused to accept their demands. With Henry, Casey, andMarvin's own Gigantamax Pokémon defeating the Pokémon guarding Hammerlocke and Bede's GigantamaxHatterene forcing Eternatus down from the clouds, Zacian and Zamazenta were able to reach and defeat it. Following Casey's pleads,Macro Cosmos agreed to leave Eternatus free in the hopes of people learning to coexist with it. While the press tried to praise Henry, Casey, and their friends as heroes, Casey, Leon, andPiers gave that honor to Zacian and Zamazenta instead, not wanting to risk more people like Sordward and Shielbert coming about by starting to label more humans as heroes.
