A Gold Bottle Cap in Pokémon GO

Pokémon GO

Main article:Hyper Training → In Pokémon GO

Gold Bottle Caps were introduced toPokémon GO on June 23, 2025, available from GO Pass Deluxe: Ancients Recovered. Using a Gold Bottle Cap on a Pokémon will initiateHyper Training to increase up to all three of the Pokémon's IVs by completing certain tasks. LikeLucky Trinkets, they must be used by a certain deadline, upon which they will be removed from the player'sBag. Unlike in the core series, the player can choose to what extent the Gold Bottle Cap will increase each IV. Once Hyper Training has begun, the player has 365 days to complete the training. Gold Bottle Caps can only be used onGood Buddies or higher, and they can't be used onShadow Pokémon or Pokémon with all three IVs at maximum.

Trivia

  • The Japanese name of おうかんōkan can mean "crown" or "bottle cap". This is referenced in the Gold Bottle Cap's design, which incorporates a crown.
    • The Korean and Chinese translations retain the "crown" meaning despite having different words for "bottle cap", since the item names in those languages were directly transcribed from Japanese.
