Promotional artwork of Gigantamax fromPokémon GO

Gigantamax is a special kind ofDynamax that certain Pokémon can undergo. Gigantamax was introduced toPokémon GO on October 26, 2024. Like in thecore series, in addition to granting tremendous strength and size, Gigantamax alters a Pokémon's appearance and allows it to use a powerful exclusive move called aG-Max Move. Unlike aMax Move, which is determined by thetype of a Dynamax Pokémon'sFast Attack, a Gigantamax Pokémon's G-Max Move is determined by its species. Gigantamax Pokémon can be encountered and captured throughMax Battles.

If there are Gigantamax Pokémon placed atPower Spots,Dynamax Pokémon might appear around the Power Spot.

Gigantamax Pokémon cannot be sent toPokémon HOME.[1] Gigantamax Pokémon count towards a special trade.

In thePokémon Box, Gigantamax Pokémon have a icon at the top right of their image.

Like in the core series,Meowth that are capable of Gigantamaxing are unable toevolve.
